Haha yeah I WAS 44 by that time :P
My hp has always been high, 2330 atm (always with items on).[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
With my equips I have a little over 2k hp, and with a barb buff I got yesterday I had 2.5k. So far the only people with higher HP in my parties has been the Barb, and sometimes a higher lvl BM or veno. lol
Let's just say blue equips that add HP and a slew of avg citrine shards go a LONG way! XD0 -

That they do, HP has always been more usefull than mag and phy def. After lvl60 you can effort full 3 star armors with really nice hp bonuses, asuming you don't spend too much money on clothes or other eye candy stuff lol[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
idk Kathar you said you statted to LA until lvl 90, which robes are you getting at 90?
and why go LA at all....i agree with what forp says, although i have no set points in vit i'm pure mag. I've survived physical classes in pvp easily using plume shell/kiting/pots and apoth, plus the pdef bonus from saykamuni's light is nice. tons of hp shards and +vit gear helps a ton too[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

OK any of you can argue w/me but this is still the truth, if you put your points into la your magic suffers, into magic your str suffers and so on the problems with clerics is they need a babysitter after lvl15 ANY MOB will kill any cleric reguardless of build when the cleric is alone w/out a babysitter to protect them, the way they have this setup makes clerics not only a support class but they can't support others with being supported from them and if no one helps you after lvl 15 YOU WILL BE DEAD...... OVER AND OVER AND OVER... till you decide like me that in this game clerics are useless to any player who doesnt have higher lvls to babysit them and do the killing 4 them YOU CANNOT LVL UP BY YOURSELF AFTER LVL 18...END OF STORY YOU CAN ARGUE, FLAME ETC BUT THE TRUTH IS THE TRUTH ANY HIGH LVL CLERIC GOT THAT WAY BY BEING A BUTT MONKEY TO OTHER HIGH LVL PLAYERS SO THEY WILL KILL FOR THEM....b:angryb:angryb:angry0

Lol, how long have you played? Have you tried wizard? Clerics are one of the easier classes to solo. I fail to see how Plume Shell/stacked IH will not make you invincible against any mob your level.b:victory0 -

Judging by that, I'm taking a stab at either you have never played a cleric before, or your cleric sucks donkey butts, no offense. Clerics are the best soloists at any level at any build. They might sometimes have a problem with phy attk monsters but with plume shell thats easily corrected. Also with purify and ironheart, there should be no monster that can kill u. I have a 49 cleric and have helped people fight level 53 mobs (with me attacking, not healing), so recheck your facts. And kudos to mothergoose, i know i resaid half of what u said.0 -
Lol the hardest part was till lv20, after that was so easy if you can keep with your high mp demands.
Guess you messed your build so much xDb:chuckle
And to add, except FB's/bosses where all classes need help (LolZ) i did all other aloneb:dirty0 -

you only have to do it with barbs because their freakin hp is so high, while other people nuke them.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
I disagree.
The only significant issue I had with my decision to go hybrid armor was not until after that range when I didn't have the pdef/hp for Tent in 1-3 right when I got BB. By the time I was done farming reputation from Adawolfs Geomancers, at 65, I was more than able to do 1-3 runs as long as I had BM buffs.
The 40s were slow going, I have to admit. If not for finding others to squad with I have no idea how much longer I would of been trapped there. In retrospect, it was my decision to stop being a cheapy cheaperson and fork out the coin for skills that made the 40s more tolerable.

Kiting is the process of keeping a mob/player out of range of hitting you while you are still able to hit them. Kiting for a cleric begins as early as level 3, with cyclone as it has a chance to slow.
For this you set the cyclone to a hotkey (I usually tell people F1) then you keep a finger on this hotkey and the 's' key. Point your view at your target, cast cyclone, then press 's' while Cyclone cools down (this runs you away from the target), cast again. Early on it is less reliable as the chance for slowing is low, but as you level cyclone it becomes invaluable.
Kiting can get complicated and many options open as more spells become available to you. I started with just cyclone and 's.' With equipment reduction in channeling and my expanded spell book, I am able to kite 3 or more mobs at the same time (depending on their level, type, and willingness to cooperate.).0 -
I don't see what the thing is about this game and ignorent people when it comes to builds. I have been a LA cleric from the get go, and I have never had any of the problems people try to argue to say bad things about LA Cleric. Let people explore.. let some fun out of the bag.. do what you want. If you want to go LA cleric just go it, there is nothing wrong with it, you wont suffer or die and the world wont end. And to all you flamers out there read this a second time before you get on with your life.0

Its not that LA isnt good and that no should use it and play like that, just the point is how can you lv up faster.
And like folks here say full mag is probably the best way to lv up fast to one point. Then you can do what eva you like.b:dirty0 -
PVP
Light Armor Cleric is probably one of the most frightening Clerics to fight, especially in a PvP server. Unlike the VIT build and Pure MAG build, LA just comes out more triumphant in the end.
From experience, people only expect one of two things to happen when fighting a Light Armor Cleric, Full Light Armor or switch to full Arcane Armor. Both these options have a hard time against full VIT at lower levels because it opens a weakness for both. However, I've found that a combination of Light Armor (body and legs) with the rest Arcane comes out triumphant over VIT builds due to fighting on even grounds; VIT build is among the weakest of all Cleric builds, same mag rate as a LA build but no Crit Rate to make up for it. There are no holes against a Cleric when fighting with mixed armors while Plume Shot, especially Demon Plume shot, will wipe the floor with the opposing Cleric.
People do not understand this concept though, they usually go "If the vit Cleric goes plume shell, your plume shot won't hurt him." An experienced PvP Cleric will tell you to sleep or paralyze your opponent when they go into Plume Shell and debuff them while its up when no one else is around. ANY amount of Spark and Plume shot will rip the bejeesus out of full VIT and pure MAG builds once their 20 seconds of glorified protection wears off. After that Plume Shot wakes them up for roughly 1.5k damage to hurt them or tick their charm, you throw the other "immobile" debuff on the opponent to lock them in place for the 2nd Plume Shot that will either kill them or have them severely hurt, then there's no way to run from the 3rd Plume Shot.
You can have the reverse, but no amount of sparked Tempest, Sparked Wield Thunder, or Spark Plume Shot can take down a LA cleric in mixed armor. I would imagine that an uncharmed one will have a hard time recovering, but a charmed one will be a hassle to take down, especially with both resists balanced.
However, this is only in a situation where no one crits. At high levels, the LA Cleric, with the right accessories and equipment, has a 11% Chance of critting; 1 in 9 shots will crit as opposed to the same accessories on a pure or vit build at 7% (which is suicide) with 1 out of 14 shots. First to reach crit usually determines winner.
PvE & TT
Light Armor is pretty conservative when it comes to PvE. Mobs only come in two varieties at all levels; they either come in Physical or Magical varieties. Light Armor builds can switch back and forth between armors to take minimal damage when fighting variant. The greatest difference at mid to high levels for Clerics is to kill in will 1 less shot or heal 1 time more. PvE, normal mobs, never take longer than 15 seconds to kill (with the exception of Increased Life and SOME Increased Defense Metal mobs), so one Ironheart will do. Of course, there are occasions where the magic mobs and physical mobs are in the same area and you only need to hunt 1. With days and days of playing, I'm sure you'll aggro at least one of the other type of mob while fighting the other.
I've seen the damage an Arcane takes from a Physical Mob and 1 Ironheart sometimes cannot keep up, thus two are needed. Physical Mobs sometimes are bunched up together too, sometimes you'll be lucky you'll only get 2. Add an unseen Sacrificial Assault and fighting Increased Attack physical mob while in Arcane spells suicide. Plume Shell will save you, but the toll taken on your already taxed MP will be severe.
So, when it really gets down to it, especially with physical mobs, 1 more Plume Shot (or Cyclone) or 1 more Ironheart? Plume Shot at 140 MP or Ironheart at 428. This is a constant too, it's not a 1 time deal as to "oh, it's only 1 cast so what" it's "1 cast every mob". MP Conservation Wise, Light Armor is the best of the 3. Of course, you can say VIT is better, but you're still going to get hurt and taxed a bunch with Physical Mobs, especially ranged ones with Increased Attack.
With a high Crit rate (11%), every crit is 1 cast worth of MP saved. Spikes are also very high when you can cast 3 spells in a single spark, 4 spells double, and 5 Sage/Demon. While your heals will be the same power as a VIT build, your attacks will be MUCH higher. With such a high crit rate, your overall damage will average out higher than a pure MAG build's.
In the harsher TT runs, they usually bring 2 Clerics anyway. 2 LAs are fine, especially for the smart ones that realize they should bring or make their own potions for the AoE bosses (Apothecary: Def Potions when Plume is down, 100 HP/sec Powders if tagged with normal potions, absorb 1000/2000/3000 damage potions, Recover 9000 HP over 30 Second Pots, etc etc etc). Not that they're needed, but the extra help doesn't hurt, especially with the abundance of herbs around everywhere with tons of lazy people not picking them up.
Overall
Light Armor Clerics are the most technical to play, which is why it is one of the most bashed Cleric builds there are. Armor wise, they cost more, but more conservative everywhere else. They are especially hard to fight with a great 80% of the PvP population Physical Damage based and are among the ones that are most likely to survive when being ganked.
Playing Light Armored Cleric is a lot like playing an old game called Armored Core and Gran Turismo. Especially when you get really good at fine tuning on the fly. Since I'm particularly prone to fine tuning, this build is especially for me and works extremely efficiently, especially in a PvP server where even the slightest advantage can spell victory.
Tip to all Clerics fighting Phoenixed Venos: Godwill Powder, Plume Shell, Strong Potion, and Plume Shot is your best bet.0 -
very comprehensive post
I really like the LA cleric build around 7x becasue you can get some really good armor (legendary armor) that is not expensive vs. arcane armour. But I wouldn't say it was Fail before 59.
Also, when fighting venos with phoniex have ppl tried to sleep the nix b4 it gets to you to stop the bleed from ever happening? Ive tried it on other veno pets and it works well if you get lucky and take out the veno b4 sleep ends. Just a thought[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
