Easter Event a total fail

Dreamweaver just had their easter event

about 3000 people turned up to try catch 100 eggs

A total failure as you couldnt even see the easter bunny let alone get a hit in to get an egg as so much lag and every veno having their pet (incl snow hares) out confusing matters


How about GM's giving every char a free easter egg they can collect from mailbox

a much better Easter

    Yep, i have to agree. It was the worst event i've ever seen.
    Like 500 people standing around an egg waiting for the drop timer to run off, so that the one with the least delay can pick it up...

    And at the end a 'evil' bunny spawned that dropped 0 items. Awsome...

    Well so far everyone that I asked that got one only got food or charm items so yah big fail. They really should have done a quest event and make it fair for everyone. Thanks for trying GM's but I agree with consensus Big Fail.

    GMs here specializes in fails.

    If they really cared for a universal holiday event, they wouldn't have limit it to 100 people, or a person picking up more than 1 egg.

    I don't see why people even bothered going, you could see from far away it would be a big fail. Good luck next time GM's, maybe you should hire us to make events for you since, well, we actually played the game not just logged in with overpowered stuff and GM's clothe at who knows what 100+ level.

    My veno on DW managed to get two eggs as soon as I arrived. xD

    Lets see...
    Hundreds of people staking out a small patch of ground for the valentine event.
    Lines of people queueing up to get their turn killing the spider boss for all the oracles from jolly jones.
    This last easter event.

    Do we see a pattern developing? A better question is are the devs going to continue to provide events which only work on massively underpopulated servers.

    thats an excellent idea, of sending out items in the mail to members. too much now the chances of getting anything from events is going to players who are fastest/strongest/most pushy. myself, i've stopped trying to go to events of any kind, like wraith attacks, etc, because of the rudness and all. takes all the fun out of it, to have to fight and push for items.b:sad

    Thanks for the feedback!

    Unfortunately lag will always be a problem with this type of event (even though we made sure that the GM's spread out the 100 eggs over a wider area to thin out the crowds).

    Truth be told, we're well aware of the 'lag' limitations based on the projected number of people participating as well as environment and NPC elements that affect performance but as is becoming the norm the actual number of players showing up is 50%+ greater then our initial projected turnout. This is not necessarily a good thing because it will slow things down considerably but on the flip side it truly demonstrates how 'active' each server really is.

    We hope to schedule more weekend events like this in the future but may have to re-consider our entire events schedule if lag affects the overall performance of the servers.
