a way to counter pvp noobs

i propose dmg reduction system that operates like this
dmg -dmg(cuberoot (difference in lv-20))*2.5%
changed mod form 1.5 to 3
and root to cube root...
cube root(20 - 10) * 2.5 = 5.38608673% dmg reduction
cube root(30 - 10) * 2.5 = 6.78604404
cube root(40 - 10) * 2.5 = 7.76808126
cube root(50 - 10) * 2.5 = 8.54987973
cube root(60 - 10) * 2.5 = 9.21007875
cube root(70 - 10) * 2.5 = 9.7871691
cube root(80 - 10) * 2.5 = 10.3032132
however if lower lv attacks higher lv no reduction is made
if both are within 20 levels of each other no reduction is done (the -20 thing)

Not such a bad idea but the difference on the last part should be 10 and not 20 lvls. 20 lvls are way too much, just think of a lvl50 getting pwned by an 70 lol.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
Well if you want to do this to "even the playfield" then all you have to do is remove all your gear and maybe a weapon too and there- that should do it
if we talk about simple damage reduction. It's very simple way to nerf yourself if that's what you want.0 -
Currently, some people have a huge incentive for killing people much lower level than them -- our per-server pvp ranking lists.
Killing a level 30 counts on this list just like killing a level 99.
Personally, unless they were always been blue named or were on this list because of defending in TW, I think people should be embarrassed if they show up there.0 -

They should change this so you LOSE kills depending on the level of the person you killed. Ever 10 levels they are below you, you lose 1 pk count.Main characters

yes i agree! i have been wanting to start a thread about the pk boards promoting 3x lvl griefing. i mean if you want to increase your kill count to show up on the boards, all they do is prey on 3x lvl chars near their required quests and get rewarded for it by showing as a top killer on the boards? leave the boards to lvl only or something, or follow some of thhese suggestions in this thread.
edit: btw i play on LC and im 54. so i am past the hardest part of the preying.0 -

im saying somthing like it should be implimented to stop pk noobs from killing lv 30s in sp and ruining pk for ppl
with my formula, the higher level would still be stronger but it gives the lower level a slight chance to win or run away, mostly run away

using this logic 3 level 70s could go drop some 9x because of the damage reduction. sounds kind of flawed to me when they can go hunt red level 90s with level 70s. yet the level 80s are screwed and just get slaughtered.
if you play on pvp server you CHOSE to get pked at any time someone feels like it. if you are on pve server and go white name you CHOSE to get pked any time someone feels like it.0 -

People will always find ways to get around the countermeasures. What's the point of ranking anyway? e-p3n0r5? Get rid of it. If you really want to test yourself against other players, it shouldn't matter if your name shows on some kind of list.
Besides, that list don't impress anyone. Everyone knows the highest ranks have no skills. All they ever do is build up sparks then try to ambush and nuke people in lower lvl grinding spots who don't have sparks. The real skilled pvpers could never show up on the rank anyway, because, frankly, one-shotting noobs is beneath them. Sobs get first place.b:pleased0 -
You know it's currently the opposite way around right? Higher level = more damage reduction against lower levels attacks, and vice versa.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0

Maybe a different idea. Basically restrict a range of lvls certain PvP can lvl. As the level of the player rises, their range also rises
Lvl 30 - 39 : Max PvP Range (+/(-) 10 lvls), the lower range must be at least 30
Lvl 40 - 49 : Max PvP Range (+/(-) 12 lvls), the lower range must be higher than 30
....
...
...
Lvl 120+ : Max PvP Range (lv 90 - 150)
So a lv 30 could only be attacked/be attacked by a lv 40 at max. A lv 39 could be attacked/be attacked by a lv 30 or a lv 49

My oppinion....
Anyone can usually kill something much lower than they are.
Takes more skills to kill above your level and also puts you at more risk which evens things out better. I say only count the kills that are above your level. That way level 70 wont be attacking level 30 because they'd get nothing from it. Instead they would have to attack above them which would put them at risk of being counter pk'd. I think alot of ppl would think twice about it and truly have to earn their stripes on a more levelled playing field that way.0 -
The pvp list is a joke.
I will continue to kill lowbies multiple times even if it takes kill away from my kill count. b:pleased[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
