I hope there won't be an Easter event. TBH I get tired of events that celebrate 'Christian' holidays. Keep Religious events out of the game.

That's rather pig-headed. Most holidays are now so commercialised that people often forget all about the religious aspects. That's a rather ignorant statement though...

Really? It doesn't matter how 'commercialized' they are, the fact is, they are still based on and biased towards Christianity. I'm not Christian, I don't appreciate being subjected to having that religions holidays shoved down my throat year after year after year.

How would you feel if I shoved down your throat year after year Buddhist holidays? Or Taoist holidays? or Muslim holidays? And there was no escape for you from them? How would saying you get tired of celebrating that ****, be pigheaded then?

yeah, didn't think so. You wouldn't like it at all either.

No one is forcing you to celebrate or believe anything. Go off and gripe about it in your little corner if you like. I personally am agnostic so sure it's not so great to have these the religious aspect thrown at you but for crying out loud live a little. Either way it's these holidays aren't going to go away. Too many people believe in them, and they are huge money makers for greedy companies.

Heck with Easter you've got the bunnies and the eggs anymore. How the heck is that so religious? Unless you go to a church or something it's not likely for people to go on about religion. You don't have to look into the religious content at all. Lighten up, let people have fun on these holidays.

Oh and if there's one thing I can't stand it's when people assume what you are thinking. No, I wouldn't be bothered at all by any Buddhist, Muslim, ect holidays or listening to what they believe in. After all no one is forcing me to celebrate.

It's not being forced to celebrate etc. It's having it constantly thrown in your face that I have issues with. I have always felt (for myself anyway) that religion is personal, and private. It shouldn't be flouted and flaunted about.

I also know that it's everywhere. You can't walk down any street in mainstream America w/o seeing 'something' be it a church, or a cross, or what have you that shoves religion in your face.

That is why I don't think that events that are triggered by religious or spiritual holidays should be in a game. I also know that few if any will agree with me on my feelings, but thats ok, I am entitled to have and voice them. Don't particularly give a rats **** if anybody doesn't like them either.

I don't like Christians. I don't like their Religion. And I sure as hell don't like having it shoved in my face every time I turn around.

Now having said that, the holiday is "based" on Christian belief's yes...but WTF do eggs, pastels and rabbits have to do with anything? OMFG...its called lighten up and have some fun!

Well if it's wrong for religions to preach and reach people then people who party, sleep around, do drugs, live a negative lifestyle etc. need to stop too. You don't like christians and their religion well I don't like gangster rappers, people who go to clubs to get sex, Angelina Jolie promoting bisexuality. My list is big so I'll stop there. Now bring on the egg hunt!

Well I'm not in the mood to start an entire debate over religion, so yes you are entitled to your opinion. Go ahead and voice it. It's still not going to change a darn thing.

As for the whole topic of this thread I sure hope there will be a nice event for the holiday. Maybe GMs could throw a few rare pet eggs about? xD That would be interesting. After all what's Easter without the eggs. Ooh and plenty of candy. . what treats have you for us GMs? Guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Yup. People are allowed to express their religions in this country, sure are, as long as it's Christian. Everybody else has to be careful lest they be prosecuted by their neighbors for it.

I won't talk about my 4 dogs getting poisoned by my neighbors because I wasn't christian, or a cross being burned on my front lawn, or my tires being slashed and the windows being broken out of my car or the local garbage company refusing to pick up my trash even though I paid for the service.

We won't talk about my electricity being randomly disconnected and my water getting shut off even though the bills were paid. Nope, won't talk about that at all. We also won't mention that it was the local Sheriff doing most of the vandalism or organizing it.

We won't talk about my alter being desecrated, or my religious space being destroyed, just because I wasn't a christian.

No, we sure won't do that, even though every last thing was done under the guise of "driving that pagan sinner out of our town" by the Good and Holy Christians of Marion South Carolina.

You Christians are sure as hell vocal about keeping your rights to spew your garbage onto everyone else, but.. god forbid someone doesn't want it.. why, it's your fricking right to shove it down everyone elses throat whether they want it or not. And if they don't want it, why.. you'll just burn them out.

You know what I say? Shove it up your fricking asses. Thats what I say. Keep your fricking religion to yourselves and stop shoving it down everyone elses throats.

Spaniards forced their religion on my mexican ancestors and killed what history and faith we had. I'm not gonna hold a grudge because some christians are morons. Besides these are holidays are all commercial anyways. I'm spiritual but I have christian/catholic based values. People act stupid because they don't understand things. Just like when I got dragged to church when I was a little kid. My parents didn't tell me why we went. They just said if we don't go we will burn in hell. I also don't hate all Christians, Just the ones who seem to think I can't possibly be content with my beliefs, and therefore they MUST teach me about Jesus. There is no woe is me, there is just me pissed at that type of religious persecution in a country where it shouldn't even exist. I was using these examples from my life to prove my point that (at least where I had lived) being a non-christian was unacceptable and anything people could do to drive them away was acceptable.

I have long since moved from there, but my hatred for that type of pseudo-christian remains. I have friends who are real Christians. They live by the Bible, accept that I no longer follow that path, and we enjoy good debates about spirituality and religion w/o the pressure of "we gotta bring him to God".

I posted what I did because too many people don't think that kind of stuff happens and don't understand how someone like me can have such a deep seated dislike for their religion. Well, there it sits. people don't have to like it, but they can't hide from it.

I don't try and push my beliefs on anyone. I don't preach to them, I don't produce pamphlets and spread them all over, I don't knock on peoples doors and ask them if they know 'Jesus'. I also don't think they should have the right to do that at all. I don't think ANY religion should have the right to push their beliefs like that.

That is MY opinion. We all know what opinions are like. Mine don't smell anymore like roses than yours do.

Being an Atheist in the south, I don't fit in too well, but better than I thought I would. At my first school, EVERYBODY was Christian. None of my friends were Atheist, none of the teachers, the superiors, NOBODY but me. I was constantly called a freak for not believing in God. (I capitalize it because I still respect your beliefs, not because I want to.) I got in a few fights over it, when I didn't do anything, they just came up to me and started throwing fists. I got in trouble for it. The principal said I 'provoked' them. I did no such thing.
I forbid myself to voice my opinion, and because of that, I'm a quiet one. The ridicule that some people can do over religion can change lives. If I hadn't moved at the age of 13, I think I would just be alone. Luckily, even though I moved further south, I suddenly fit in. I found a group of gamers (ohay) and learned ALL of them were Atheist. I later found out my brother and his friend were also Atheist. I still get ridiculed about it, but hey, it's a lot better than before. I still think people are good at the heart, and they don't mean (mostly) what they do physically. I don't care about Christians, Muslims, Jews, I don't care about religion, but apparantly they do, so I just stray away from them and stay in my little group. I don't speak against God in public, as that would be a fairly bad idea.
When people start going into religious talks, I just tune out and nod when they look at me. My whole family are religion freaks except my brother and I, and my grandfather is even a preacher. I don't mind saying grace or praying, it's what makes them happy so I do it. They don't know I'm Atheist just yet, but one day...
