Overwhelming Cleric Spirit Requirments

Why does it seem I never have enough spirit for all my skills? Its really frustrating at the moment, when I worked hard to have enough coin, but the spirit just isn’t there. I have like 2 pages of skills to upgrade and the spirit is so high per skill. I left out the first heal skill because its worthless, I feel I have to choose between buffs/heals and attacking! Is cleric just very heavy spirit requirements?
I came from another game Silkroad that allowed players to "farm" for skill points (pw's spirit equivalent) and with a 9 gap between skill mastery level and player level to equal 10% exp, and 90% skill point exp per mob.
In perfect world the rate is stuck at its rates no matter what level anything is at. Seems a bit backwards to me due to a previous game experience. oO Is there something that gives just spirit that I seem to be missing or not understanding?
Any advice or encouragement is very greatly appreciated!
Did I put this in the wrong section? =/

This will be the case until you are a much higher level.
The point however is that you do NOT have to open nor upgrade all the skills that you see. A lot of them can wait until you have the extra spirit.
Right now the key things you should be worried about are:
Plume Shot
Cyclone
Ironheart
Wellspring
Buffs
Below is From This Guide
This is it for the skills themselves; due to the fact that skill points aren't fixed it's hard to plot an exact guide on what to get and when. Instead, I'll devise a ranking of sorts:
A. Primary Skills
- Ironheart Blessing
- Plume Shot
- Great Cyclone
- Spirit's Gift
- Spark Ignition
These skills are mandatory for anyone. Wether it's PvE or PvP, solo or party, you will need these skills to function. Have them at the highest level you can get, all the time.
B. Secondary Skills
- Vanguard Spirit
- Magic Shell
- Revive
- Wield Thunder
- Plume Shell
These skills are important, yet do not absolutely need to be maxed as soon as you can. Let them wait a few levels if you have primary skills you haven't bought yet, or the sp cost is too much to be worth it at the time (if you could buy 2-3 tertiary skills for the cost of one secondary skill level, for example).
C. Tertiary Skills
- Purify
- Chromatic Seal
- Metal Mastery
- Soon, the Light
- Celestial Guardian's Seal
These are skills you should level now and then, depending on how useful you found them to be.
D. Optional Skills
- Wellspring Surge
- Elemental Seal
- Dimensional Seal
- Silent Seal
- Flight Mastery
- Manufacturing Skills
- Razor Feathers
- Siren's Kiss
These are skills that can be left out altogether with no detriment to your basic functionality. However, if you find that any of them are interesting/helpful in some way, feel free to mix them in if your main priorities allow excess sp.
E. Lategame Skills
- Tempest
- Stream of Rejuvenation
You get these skills during your mid levels, but they max at endgame stages. Leave them alone until your lower level skills are maxed and only start on them when you have surplus sp, as they're quite expensive.
F. Useless Skills
- Blessing of the Purehearted
- Thunderball
Don't get these, ever.
Note: You must get level 1 of these skills as soon as possible:
- Revive
- Purify
- Plume Shell
- Soon, the Light
- Heaven's Wrath
- Regeneration Aura
How you level them up afterwards depends on what you want (except the chanelled spells that have only one level anyway), but you must have at least level 1 of each to function properly.
Note: Some skills that are mentioned as useless or optional are prerequisites for other skills; as such you will have to get level 1 of them to unlock skills further down the tree (getting Thunderball to 1 so you can access Wield Thunder, for example).[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Much like any class in PWI, you have to chose a "path" to follow at earlier lvls to be efficient at whatever role you want to take on. This really only applies at earlier lvls as you will get much more spirit later on to use towards other skills. At that point money may be your only issue. lol
I chose a support role for my cleric, and I have had plenty of spirit and money to get my desired skills as soon as they come available. All my important buffs/skills are maxed or the highest I can have at my lvl. I even get extra to boost some uneccesary skills (like flight mastery) just because I can, and when another skill opens up I still have enough spirit at that time to get it. Mind you I have only been lvling my buffs and my only attacks are Plume Shot and Great Cyclone (both maxed), but I still do very well solo and my parties love my ability to heal and buff. The same can be said of those that are attack minded. You work on the skills that matter most to you at the start, and later you can get the rest.
As for getting more spirit, going on FB runs helps, as does Crazy Stones when you hit 30, also doing every quest you can get. The Spiritual Cultivations can give insane amounts of spirit as well, usually because you've just opened a whole new set of skills. So just get what you think is important to you at this time (assuming you are lvl 26 as your icon suggests) and know things will get better as far as spirit is concerned. No class can learn every skill they get at the lvl they get them, and if they did at such an early lvl they'd be mediocre at best, neither good at supporting or attack.0 -
Spirit runs out for most of us by a certain point - it's not just clerics, but I understand that it completely sucks.
Mobs give small amounts of spirit points when you kill mobs, and FBs tend to give decent amounts of spirit when you go on tabbed runs.
In my opinion, the best way to grind spirit is to let yourself die a few times - get to like...90% xp, and kill yourself down. It seems counterproductive when it come s to gaining levels, and I myself rarely do it....however, if you're desperate for the SP, it's the quickest way to stay on level with your skills. You can always just grind tabbed FBs and regualr mobs, just be prepared to level before you get enough spirit to empty out your list.
As with many other classes, there are "paths" you can choose to follow in an attempt to lessen the amount of SP you have to use up. As a cleric, you can choose to focus solely on healing, solely on offensive skills, or a mix of the two. All your skills will still show up, you just pick and chose which fits you more. The poster above me gave you a great list of skills to focus on, just follow along or find your own way.
Good luck ^^"In the end, its not about LA vs robe - which is better? Its about knowing your character and how to play it." ~Blosque, Sanctuary

Thanks everyone, yes my lvl is as shown in my avatar. =P
The idea of picking a path to follow seems logical enough, though I am not sure which to follow at this time.
When it comes to skills every cleric I talk to has a different story. Makes my head spin at times.
Personally atm I have:
- Plume Shot
- Thunderball (lvl 1 opsie! lol )
- Razor Feathers
- Ironheart
- Vanguard Spirit
- Magic Shell
- Plume Shell
- Revive
I think I am on track, kinda half way in between support and attack. There arent many parties at my lvl so I dabble in both so I can atleast lvl. A freind tells me that I have to hang in till Doom Cultivation kicks in before I complain about spirit. lol oO
Is there anywhere listed a total spirit needed to max all skills at level cap anywhere? I would like to see the difference in classes as it pertains to spirit needed to complete, if possiable.51 lvls in Calamity, **** whomever actually pressed the kick button on me, while I was at work no less, you coward.0 -

Keep Thunderball there...it is rather useless!
Same with Razor feathers....this is not useful until much later on and even then not used all that much.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Grinding with a exp scroll helps alot 1 hour of grinding at lvl 60+ could give you about 10k SP thats only a hour. Also you Cultivation gives insane SP if i remeber correctly the lvl 68 or 69 Cultivation gives 580K SP, but as stated above concentrat on Attk or Support roles and any extra SP can go on other skills. I grind alot and have spent over 3kk on SP and still have 1.5mil SP at lvl 73 just at higher lvls you get more SP when you really need the SP
b:victory
Sorry if misspelled at work ATM!!!!! b:laughSantra
Attk Cleric FTW b:laugh0 -
so I just need to hang in till higher levels then? Guess I better grind faster lol51 lvls in Calamity, **** whomever actually pressed the kick button on me, while I was at work no less, you coward.0

Interesting number comparasion, compared to the 4 weapon blademasters, cleric requirements are pretty small. lol Well I guess I have no room to speak about the spirit for cleric, I picked the lowest req class! xD Thanks everyone for the great posts!! ^_^51 lvls in Calamity, **** whomever actually pressed the kick button on me, while I was at work no less, you coward.0 -

You made me sad b:cry now I know how bad off I am, though I already knew...hit 59 yesterday, got my cult done, and was finally able to catch up my most important skills, sadly didn't have any spirit left to get my 2 spark aoes >.>0 -
My lvl 66 wizard on Sanc has over 1mil spirit... he just has no money to buy skills. lol
I guess being broke is an easy way to save up spirit. ^^
@ OP:
At 27, don't grind! Do every quest you can get your grubby little hands on! lol You'll fly through the levels, get lots of spirit, and the grinding is pretty much built in. You should be set until some lvls in the 30s and 40s (I ran out of quests a couple of times and had to grind a few % to lvl), and you'll get a slew of quests again around the 50s. At least that's how it seems for me anyway. lol Also when you hit 50, don't forget to talk to the Elder in 1K Streams. He has a quest that gives 142k xp and lots of spirit too. It's an easy way to get from 50 to 51 in a VERY short time.0 -
I have over 1.2 mil spirit and my "suport cleric" skils are all maxed including flight maestry lvl 9... so i'm doing preaty good with all that spare spirit but beeng a suport cleric is kinda boring for me and now i an afort to upgrade a few pvp skils and i say upgrade cuz i already the skils i just need to work a little on tham just to get a bit of ... hmm "guts" b:cute wen i go pk-ing or trying anyway lol
So i tryied to go more on hibrid tho my maxed and used skils are those of a suport cleric b:victory

But grinding allows me to farm the materials required for crafting, and selling. I wouldnt have all my coin if I just quested. Maybe thats why I lvl slower then all my freinds. lol The grind here is so much easier then Silkroad xD so I dont mind it really.51 lvls in Calamity, **** whomever actually pressed the kick button on me, while I was at work no less, you coward.0 -

o NO dont think lime that questing is esencial here, if you dont do your quests you dont get enough reputation to be able to complete your dungens, and + quests do have as a quest reward coins and they make you kill moobs (more coins) so at this lvl all you want to do is quests
you can worry abour grinding after lvl 40 wen the quests wont be enoupgh to lvl you, so if you would just do your quests you would have enough exp,rep and coins to play good think about it or try b:victory[SIGPIC]http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo358/jack665/1-1.jpg[/SIGPIC]

Ah, lol. I don't have the patience to craft, and never really had the need to. As for selling, herbs and mineable mats are usually a quick way to a buck, but I get more money from selling DQ items to the NPC and auctioning off any good equip. ^^
Keep it up with the crafting though. Otherwise those of us without the patience to would never get our TT weaps, molds made into armor/weaps, and other such stuff without buying them! XD0 -
Thunderball is NOT a useless attack if you know how to use it and mostly Kite enemies as your main form of attack.
However, Clerics DO suffer more spirit issues than any other class I have played or talked to so far with Mages probably coming in right after.
I for one have, like you, a long list of needed skills that I cannot upgrade because of lack of Spirit. I have all the coin I need but never any spirit to upgrade things with and from what I understand that does not resolve until you are in your 90ish levels at which point the game is practically over anyway which is in my opinion rediculous. They really need to distribute more spirit out earlier or lessen the cost of some skills (especially for Elves "Flight Mastery". I mean if you want to keep your natural wings they should not be so hard to grow up to higher levels TBH considering they are your natural wings. I had to buy higher level wings to keep up with speed demands on me by others because I cannot AFFORD to waste SP on Flight Mastery but I do not reaaaally like the look of the Botique wings...b:cold )0
