Lightning strike and thundershock... both?

I got ligtning strike at lvl 4 right now and thundershock at lvl 1 but i am unsure of its nesssery too level both of them, or maybe just stick too Lightning... cause the mana cost its pretty high. what do u do??

And another thing, would it be a good idea, just too causal level knockback arrow, onc ein a while??

Yes i have read Annor guide, but really want other opinion about this? allthough i like the guide so far ofcourse.

    the lighting moves come in handy in PVP heavy armour
    my lighting strike is maxed.
    other are pretty low atm (thunder shock & thunderouse blast), focusing on bow mastery atm etc
    but going to max soon.

    and with knockback, i dont level it.. the knockback distance dosent lvl up.. and if u leave at lvl 1, its very very cheap mana, at a 34.2 mana cost.

    BUT these are my opinions, wait till more reply before you make a choice.

    Nooooooo. Never ever level knockback past 1. I've got level 3, and oh boy, do I regret it.
    If you're planning on PvP, then levelling the lightning skills is a good idea. Otherwise, you'll have little use of them in higher level PvE.

    Never level knockback. You shouldn't have any problem dealing damage with the other skills, but the mana cost (which you probably will have to watch) goes up with higher levels of knockback.

    As for Thunder Shock, I'd level it for two reasons. One, Lightning strike has a noticable cooldown time, so any other elemental skills you can throw in there in the mean time are good. Two, Thunder Shock also reduces the enemy's resistance to metal damage, meaning that Thunder Shock will make subsequent Lightning Strikes deal more damage.

    Personally, I'm holding off on leveling those two for my lvl 39 archer simply because they're costly in terms of SP and my SP is rather limited atm. I plan to level them when I have the chance, though.

    If you ever grind/quest with a Cleric (which I do, quite a lot :P), Thunder Shock has the added advantage of helping your Cleric do more damage with their metal attacks (of which they have several). Recently I upgraded mine from Lv2 straight to Lv5. :P

    It's all about what u want to do or how u play.

    PvP- it's a no brainer, lvl up all ur metal skills for heavy armor characters. NEVER level ur knockback, all it does is take up money, sp and more money

    PvE- U really don't have to lvl them but ocasionally. Max your buffs 1st. Also, in my opinion, never lvl quickshot... Ur normal shot does just a lil bit less dmg but its also alot quicker.
