Reputation points?

When my characters turn in quests, they get reputation points. With whom are the earning reputation? What does reputation do? Is there a purpose for getting it high? What happens if it is low? How does it work? I have not been able to find anything about this in the forums.

    you need 80 reput at level 19 to be able to activat your first FB.

    Then after wards in Archosaur, you will be asked to have certain amount of reput top have rank equipement.

    1500 reput at lv 30 for rank 1

    then 2500 reoput , 5000 and so on .;

    rank 8 ( 200k reput ?? ) permits yo uto have best weapon in game ( ?? )
    I look at all the trollers, and Pvpers.. and know they wouldnt have lasted 30sec on Camelot.

    Rules= Know your enemy (players and NPCs) gives you more chances to survive.

    I thought it was 300 at level 30 and 1000 at 40 for the ranks? Although that is just what I've experienced, so could be wrong.
