Is it worth the money to get a hercules?

Are they really that much better?

Venomancers that own a herc, do you like it and are you glad you purchased it?

Also, compared to other pets (aside from the phoniex) where do they stand as far as defense and attack? Are they completely more powerful than any tamable pet?

Thanks in advance! b:victory

Worth it,you can do fbs alone(i mean fbs near your level not 20-30 below except for bosses that will debuff herc)you can farm tt squad modes nevermind tt solo(though it wrecks mat prices for normal tt squads in long run)you can kill quest bosses without needing a full squad to help you(mostly)

Yeah i like it well worth the 20mil,though the ability to add a proper mohawk to his head would be awesome.

Compared to any other pets, herc grows wings and dumps on them from a great height.

Yes. Herc has self buffs. When unbuffed, Herc is slightly better than a golem at it's same level. buffed it is FAR better.

Example: Unbuffed, at lvl 60 my Herc handled lvl 65 mobs pretty easily. Buffed he was handling lvl 90+ mobs pretty easily. My golem died trying the same thing. Followed shortly after my my ignoble flight from the fray.

Really worth it. You don't have to heal him while grinding. Healing about 10x less than a normal pet = faster grinding. Herc is PERFECT if you are pure arcane. You deal massive damage and he will tank the **** outta everything. You will lvl and get money fast as hell.

Also can solo all the FB's. I can solo all FB's up to 59 easy. Sometimes I do wined FB59 runs and pick up ALL the 3 star 3 slot atuff ALL for myself. I can't wait till I can start real farming in TT. ;)

The only thing that can really stop a herc is bosses with physical or magical debuffs and some TT bosses. Otherwise, a high level herc can tank damn near anything.

It is absolutely without a doubt worth every penny. I've made back the cost in the last 2 weeks with about 1/100th the effort it took to get it in the first place. Phoenix will be a breeze to save for after I get gear up to par.

without herc none of my gear would be possible. Ive seen some 80+ venos/casters who still use shoddy genesis set gear, 2-3* with really lousy mods and it kind of makes me feel bad.

Just remember, herc is an advantage, so take advantage of him... and appreciate it. ...and dont let your friends try to abuse you for TT with like my "friends" tried to lol. all they cared for was $, not me :|

The herc is the best tanking pet in the game by far, and is worth every penny. You can't solo everyboss by your self, however you can solo alot when your herc = same level as the boss. Aoe grinding is nice with herc also, as it can with stand 4-5 mobs while you aoe them down. Then ontop of all, you can solo alot of bosses in TT, getting mats and selling them for profit. So ya its preaty much worth it "IF" you plan on taking that character to 8x+.

TBH aoe grinding kinda sucks because venos have one aoe skill and you have to make sure the herc keeps hitting all of them equally to actually use the aoe and not steal aggro.
Grinding flying mabz with a phoenix is much better.

LoL... veno's secret attack: Flying Herc - select target, fly high, summon Herc and let him fall on the enemy. Who can survive that?

On the topic - I don't have Herc, but seems it is worth to get one. With some TT squad solos you will earn that money back. They seems to be more lively which means, so less worries about pet's health.

I am buying Source of Force.

I am on dreamweaver and I haven't yet checked the price of gold. So the amount I buy for may change.

    Buying:

    1 SoF for 1,500 coins

1 battle pet pack for 25,000 coins

    PM/WHISP me in-game. IGN: BillyJoe

I am just doing this to soften the blow of $200. The rest of the SoF will be purchased with gold via the boutique.

    b:bye

Thanks for all those who have helped! b:cute

Since you're on Dreamweaver I feel that there's an additional piece of information you ought to know: Herc only eats meat, and nothing else. Due to the absence of Christmas Blessing on your server, you will probably have to constantly buy that cash shop item that prevents your pet from going hungry (2 gold every week).

Of course, the money you'd make with Herc would probably pay that itself, but it's something you should also keep in mind.

Anything that goes in that slot (such as the various mystery tomes) have the same effect. People have figured out Rebirth by now to get fragments with pages to make tomes. Although I'd imaging it's rare in the new serves due to lack of high level people capable of getting fragments.

In sanctuary, 3-4mil for christmas blessing. 2 mil for mystery tome. Herc cost around 20 mil or 200 gold average.

Now that tomes are readily available the xmas blessing is junk. Crit is only minimally useful for us, I'll take pure +magic any day. 2 mil and you're set.

I'm a little new to the whole buying-a-Herc thing. It's hard finding the info I want muddling through threads, and I don't want to start a new one.

    What I want:

    * To buy a Herc using in-game coins

    What I know:

    * I need Sources of Force to get a Herc

    * I get the Herc from the Zoologist

    * I should expect to spend 20 million or so coin to get a Herc

What I would like to know:

    * What is the best place to get Sources of Force?

Keep in mind that I'm a noob when it comes to this. In other words, I really need things spelled out step-by-step.

I've seen Sources of Force being auctioned, so I know I can get them there. I hear people talking about using cash shop items to buy a Herc. Sources of Force don't seem to be sold at the Boutique as far as I can tell. What are people talking about?

Sources of force come from Battle Pet Packs which cost 50 silver.

Statistically u get around 27 sources/feathers per pack. That means u need around 340-360 packs.

You can exchange 100 feathers to get 100 sources or 100 sources to get 100 feathers at north west archosaur pet npc.

You can also buy the SoF/Feathers directly from other players, but my experience and that of many others is that it is much cheaper to open your own packs. It takes a lot of clicking and patience, though, so some people will still buy them. You can cut costs a bit by selling the feathers you get and buying more packs. Takes a good bit longer than trading them to pet mngr, but it's the thrifty way to go.

Herc is way worth it, regardless if you going to farm TT solo or squad.
cause not every BM is design for tanking, lot of them hardly put any vit in their build = low hp.
so one barb for tanking and if barb miss it, you healer might be dead in next sec.
Herc can pretty much tank any trash in TT = save your cleric's butt most of the time.
that is one of the major problem cleric dies you either **** or have to wait.
IF you try to do this with magnite, lol maybe 2 hits its dead in any 3-1 3-2.

Well hercs really are quite usefull for stuff such as HH and in PvE... But in PvP, I find it quite usless and I use a Serphah instead. Serphas can fly and are really good at everything. Look at its Stats and compare it to Herc Infant. I just recommend you use the Herc Infant for PvE and Serphah for PvP.

Seriously though it will be worth every coin or gold for it since its 3 buffs alone (inc phy def, inc mag def and dmg reflect) are awesome. I would replace pounce with bash though since it will help alot in PvEb:pleased
