PvP Tips

I've read the basics on PvP when it comes to archer. I get that for heavy armor it's important to focus on magic-based damage, arcane armor to focus on physical damage, and light armor being a mixture of the two.

My question for you PK veterans is what specific skill combos have you find are effective versus certain classes and the pitfalls beginning PK archers should try to avoid.

Is it important to spam mana-using attacks to increase front load damage or is there more discretion when it comes to casting spells for PvP?

When is typically the best time to use winged shell?

What is an archer's first priority in selecting class types to target in a TW situation?

Thanks for the help!

    No discretion, only maximizing damage.

Deadly Shot (or Take Aim) in later levels can be used for initiating a fight with an unsuspecting target, but generally should not be used midfight.

Stunning Arrow should be used on everyone (if you expect an opponent to use spark eruption, immediately afterwards is the best time to stun them)

Focus on physical attacks for arcane armor, metal attacks for heavy -- and a mixture for light. Winged Shell should be used to protect your HP while your charm recharges when necessary (usually just after a charm tick), and Spark Eruption should be used when chi is available to get past an opponents charm.

Also, in addition to opportune use of skills, never underestimate the power of your normal dps. You don't HAVE to skill everything; sometimes it's just better to fit in more hits and gamble on that crit instead of cast a bunch of long-channeling skills for one big whoop.

In a TW, it depends on if you're attacking or defending. If you're attacking, pick off those wizards ASAP because they are going to be the ones dropping your teammates. Also pick off venos, because they will be debuffing your pullers. If you're defending, drop as many clerics as you can, picking off wizards and archers in the meantime.

What is spark eruption? Is it just the 100 chi-thing which you use for specific skills or is it *A* skill? It's not in skill tree, and the forums searches weren't clear.

So is spark eruption the 100 chi a player uses for a skill?

Or is it something that doubles attack in the skill, etc.... CONFUSED

Spark eruption is a skill you get that uses 1 spark, which is 100 chi, and it gives you 150% more damage for like 10 seconds or so.

Wait until it wears off? ^^

If they have a phoenix.. waiting can be difficult, most phoenixes will have Flesh Ream on auto-cast... hit your Wings of Grace as it's flying at you, it will cast ream as soon as it reaches you, if you are mid cast you will be immune to its bleed, and the next wont be for another 15 seconds. If you have the chi... and are uberskilled or lucky with your timing, you can spark as ream cools down to be immune to the next one (again, you're only immune while casting).

If your timing succeeds... there is a 10% chance the venomancer will quit the game. Those are good odds ^^

lol Annor, thanks for reassuring me =(. Well the problem I have, is i can stay away from the pheonix, and use WoG/spark to keep flesh ream off, but damn, mage venos hit pretty hard themselves, like 900-1300 off of me, and if they are smart they won't let me get max range....Its about **** stupid, lol. Bramble, and speed buff, AND a pet.

I feel like going to QQ in a veno hate club thread, lol.
