Intallation Error on Windows 98

Im trying to install PWI on a Windows 98 but i keep getting an error at the end of the installation at 99%...
Its saying:

Fail Creating the file!

I've used same installer on an XP based computer and I encounter no such problem. Can anyone please help.

Note: Installing Windows XP is not an option.

    You run out of disk space? Corrupted download? Not much that would stop the installer.

    to me .. it resemble an error the installer has trying to find a directorie wich doesnt exist in W98.

    try to create the directories and subdirectories ( Documents and settings\... )
    I look at all the trollers, and Pvpers.. and know they wouldnt have lasted 30sec on Camelot.

    Rules= Know your enemy (players and NPCs) gives you more chances to survive.

    Thanks for the information...will try to free spaces and create the dires\ctories needed...will post back what progress i make...thanks again..

    still no luck...
    still having error...i freed 20GB of free spaces and still having same error...
    could you help me what files/directories neede to create?

    Memory : 512MB RAM

    Windows Dir : C:\WINDOWS
    DirectX Version : DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904)
    Graphics Card : RADEON 7000 SERIES

    is your DD formated fat32 or Fat ?

    the error message says it cant create the directory perfect world ...

    if on fat partition you will be limited to 8 or 16 (?) characters wide for directories.. ( if memory serves) in fat 32, limitation isnt the same (255 characters for naming).

    Fat is the Dos formating system, Fat 32 formating comes from selecting it in w98 installation process.

    other programs permits you to change that fact ( partition magic comes to mind... )

    Try to create the arborescence shown in the error message. ( respect every space and caracter)

    The HDD is FAT32.
    I check the files in Windows98 against the the files on my XP installation...all files and folders are present but the files in the Launch folder...could it be "unicows.dll" is the culprit? The installation process stops on this particular file. also the filename unicows.dll is visible on windows XP but in Windows98 the filename is "___.dll".

    well I currently bought a new laptop and made sure all the specs were suited for this game. when installing the game it says that there is a "read error in PW International part 3.rar" is there a way to fix this? I downloaded the files in bulk from the site and it has worked for my friends. gahhh this is frusturating T_T i would really appreciate it if someone could give me some advice =/
