1000 Zen?

I was wondering how much 1000 zen equals like for example 1000 zen = 500 gold or 250 silver

    I believe 1000 zen equals 10 gold.

    $10.00 = 1,000 zen = 10 gold = 1,000 silver
    1 gold = 100 silver
    1 penny = 1 zen = 1 silver (but you can't recharge that small an amount)

    just wondering if buying the zen is a must.. if you will have definitly a disadvantage in the game if you dont purchase this stuff.

    No not really, as you can buy gold in game with coins.

    Current Sanctuary prices seem to be hovering around 115-125k per gold. You can buy gold from the Auctioneer under the Gold Trading option, or you can buy boutique items directly from other players. Some items are cheaper to buy from other players, such as mounts. For example a spurred kirin costs 45 gold, but you can usually get one for around 3.5 million. Other items can cost a little more, like Guardian Angels or Training esotericas, since they are in such high demand.
