AOE solo-nix/herc,reflect skill?

Hi,

I'm a lvl72 full mag veno(almost, have 46dex) and I love doing aoe grind (solo), but it's getting troublesome for me lately due to the fact that I steal aggro from pet almost all the time when I cast aoe the 2nd time. Right now I use shikou valorian and togrin, I'm thinking of getting a pheonix(im a DD fan) or a herc.

I wanna know if the reflect skill of herc will work not only to the one it's currently attacking but all the mobs attacking it? If it does, then I might get a pheonix and buy a reflect skill from some one who got one from Dragon Temple (if I can that is). If I can't then, I might still get a pheonix and its high dmg. itself will keep aggro?

    Reflect works on every mob thats hitting if their using phys based attacks. Mag based doesn't reflect.

    But I still think herc would be better for aoe'ing. Get a pheonix if you wanna rip thru individual mobs.

    Just wondering, how much more damage does the phoenix do than herc on real mobs your level? And what about compared to your veno attack?

    I only have a herc atm. But I think you will have aggro problems when trying to aoe no matter what pet you get...unless you grind on phys only mobs. Then maybe the reflect damage will stack up enough for the pet to keep aggro.

    This is herc :
    -Really high survivability if he aggros a ton of mobs in pve
    -dungeon runs
    -pounce stun can be nice for ground pvp
    -boss solos
    -reflect alone can kill some bosses

    Pheonix
    -great air and ground pvp
    -increases your kill speed in pve by a little bit
    -catching aggro in normal grinding will be a thing of the past

    Whenever I see pheonix grinding in pve, I see that they have a decent kill speed but it's nothing that makes me say "WTF NERF THAT!". I save that for a nix in pvp. :p

    Ok, lets say i get a pheonix(no reflect), i gather mobs by letting nix hit em once. Can I aoe multiple times and not steal aggro(since the nix gave out high dmg.)? I guess I'm asking, If the initial dmg. it gave 2 mobs be enough for me not 2 steal aggro by aoe-ing multiple times?

    And noob question, i nvr bother 2 find out: fly pets deals half dmg. 2 ground mobs..would the same thing applies to pheonix?

    the thing to do when AOE leveling with a herc, is to let him punch the ****ing monster about 4-5times before moving on to mob the next one. From there, he;ll have established aggro to where you can noxious gas.

    Make sure to give him bash. (No herc keeps pounce unless you're 'tarded)

    Usually youll have enough chi to spark the second noxious after healing and can kill them in two.

    Although, solo AOE leveling is highly ineffecient seeing as veno performs way better in single target situations

    Is Bash maxxed on the pets?

    yes, shikou valorian has lvl5 bash and togrin has lvl3, i steal aggro on both pets when i do noxious gas 2x

    Bottom line, herc is more pve oriented and nix is when you wanna be lame in pvp. And I think in the time you would take you to lure all the mobs up just with any pet, I could have killed the same amount or more one by one.

    Aggro is always gonna be hard and annoying to deal with if you're trying to aoe. And I think herc would have an easier time paying for a nix than vice versa. For example, I got my wheel of fate from a solo fb39 run. ALready got 1.8m offers on it. See my point? ;o

    Do you use the Torgirn's Sandblow ability? Might help keep aggro off you.

    actually its very efficient for me(when i dont steal aggro), my shikou(lvl5 bash) and togrin(lvl3 bash) holds abt 4 mobs and i do noxious gas(6sec.cooltime) which doesnt need chi/spark by the way(parasitic nova does, 2spark).

    I aoe from times with herc - mostly cuz its good money ^^
    But only the reflect wont hold agro when i start spamming noxi gas. Than u get a train of mobs after you lol
    U have to establish agro on each mob before u move over to next. Let herc hit the mobs 2-3 times - than click next mob. Than u can gather like 8-10 mobs no problem and use nox gas and parasite nova in between the heals. But its good to have enough chi for bramble hood ready if u do get agro.
    Also try to avoid healing the herc while it moves over to next group of mobs. Healing herc while its moving away and the mobs arent constantly hit with reflect can get u agro b:shocked.

    2) Upon making sure that those mob whom your pet are attacking have already been hit 3-4 times at least, cast your AOE skill.

    Even with Herc or nix, you won't steal the aggro from them... =)

    ^ Simplified version of my first post.

    with proper gear, and herc you can mob 9-12 monsters and kill them in 2 AOEs after a few herc punches /reflect.

    AOE leveling with a spell that has a 6 second cooldown is lame. Single target scroll leveling ftw.

    You don't have to have max loyalty...just over 500 fo max bonuses. It's 120% attack and 150% exp for a loyalty over 500.

    not to mention shikou valorians are fail. theyre way too high to be used, when doing my FB 70, another veno in party used one, had ~5.5k def compared to my magmites 6... 6k something lol. I think It was almost 7 o_O. Pets are like pokemon, the lower you catch it, the higher its stats... and a level 18 magmite with an investment of a few coins will perform far better than a stupid valorian

    A. Bear stats - 3149 1672 7618 7618 1259 933 0.6 8.6 (used as example since its a high level pet)

    fire fox stats - 2087 2257 4867 7571 1669 1020 0.8 9.8 (same situation)
    as you can see the higher you catch a pet the crappier its stats get

    i hate golems i have an overclocked mechcrab and i wanted to see if valorian which is more near my level has better stats than my crab
    if yes i could use it on very rare occasions
    i also hate grinding so i'll never level a golem from 17-18

    That really only comes into play when comparing within the same family/sub-family and not completely different families/sub-families which is what you did.

    I have a phoenix with reflect. Its still most efficient to fight 1 vs 1 with it. Reflect doesn't really do that much damage. If you tried just using it to keep aggro, you would steal aggro easily.

    The only good thing about reflect on the phoenix, is that it will usually keep enough aggro for you to spam heal the phoenix. Without reflect, as soon as you cast first heal the one the phoenix isn't hitting, will turn on you. Its a big advantage for adds. But its still better one versus one.

    If you want to AOE the herc is way better. Especialy since with herc you can join in the fighting, instead of spam healing.

    then go find me growth charts for pets because the internet is fairly limited.
