Infuriating Pigments

I think PWE should allow players to buy the colors they want from the cash shop. A hot colors back has a 3% chance of giving you the color you want, and then it takes multiple pigments to dye something. I think if we're going to be paying money for these items we should be able to pick what we want and not have to gamble. For example, I bought a wingspan set, the clothing itself comes in a random color, and it takes 3-9 pigments to dye it a different color. I'm very displeased with the pigment system and think it needs a serious overhaul.

I agree with the above poster. If I want a chance at getting something by random luck, then I'd go to a casino. If I pay money for something that I want, then it only makes sense to make that something fixed. Please make the pigment system into a reliable system that we players can count on.0

I agree. Of course there should still be a random color option for those who want to take the risk and maybe not have to as much for the color they want.
While on the subject of clothes and having to pay for stuff, how about giving us the 'Try Clothes' option in the cash shop and throw in an option to preview different colors while trying the clothes on too. I don't want to buy something only to see that it looks horrible on my character or pay for a color that in the end looks just as bad.
The way it works now is stupid. I'd have to find someone somewhere that's either wearing or selling the item I want and try on the clothes. If it's not in the color I want, then I have to stare at the low res preview (fix that too! I run the game at max settings and that preview still looks like ****) and try to imaging what the different colors would look like.0 -
I agree completely with everyone who has posted thus far. I think it would encourage more people to buy clothing as they would be able to get it in the color they want with less hassle.
I'd love to see all of the options mentioned so far put into play. I feel it would make the game so much better for everyone.0 -
Ditto to all. I purchased a dress and shoes for my wife for her birthday. The dress came in a PERFECT color. totally awesome. Shoes take 1 pigment to die, and I have so far spent nearly a mil in freaking pigments and still cannot get a match, or even something that looks decent with it. (avoiding the stardard balck/white option.) I am starting to think maroon is the color I want, but now have no money to speak of and still can't find a cat shop with it even if I did have the money to spend.

Yes, I'm still a stubborn holdout in favor of the old game. Haters gonna hate. ;]

Agreed. This has been mentioned before. Right now it's a big money loser for PWI considering how many people who have 5+ clothing items stuck in their bank doing nothing because they can't dye them the color they actually want...[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Unfortunately I think you are wrong....
I think the random pigments are a money maker because there are plenty of people out there willing to spend to get the color they want.
I could never imagine buying an item of clothing and not wearing or doing anything with it. If you are going to buy it, either dye it or sell it and with the profit try to find an outfit in a color that is liked. Even then, there are people who sell individual dyes.
I do wish that we could pick our own colors, but the reality is that too many people are willing to dye there clothing...[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

I'd like to know the exact percentage of the word "plenty." Really though, in this game there are so many things that need to be fixed and this random chance of the things you pay real money for is a big downer. To iterate a point I made in another post, random chance is great if you don't have to spend real money on. When I spend real money on something, it has better be for sure; or else I'd go to a casino to try my luck instead of playing this game.0 -

I read your other post and am not saying that anyone is wrong. I am just pointing out that if it was broke and not a money maker then it would have been fixed already or changed in some way.
And when I say "plenty" (small example and not all inclusive): --- All of the black dresses running around...I am HIGHLY doubtful that they bought them that way (from Cash Shop)...therefore, they either dyed them themselves or bought them from another player who had dyed them.
*(And I would luv to know the exact percentage too but that is not going to happen and we both know it...they won't even tell us how many players there are...b:chuckle)*
So, having said all of that -- if you don't want to gamble then don't, if you want a specific color then try to find someone who is selling one in game, just don't bother with the clothes, hope that someone is selling enough of the individual dyes you want or just try your luck of the mood strikes.
No-one says you have to use your real money to take a chance on a color...that is a personal choice and it is not right or wrong either way...[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

If I'm not mistaken, PWI is fairly new in the United States where it's trying to expand to. I've never heard of it until recently. Currently, the prices in the Boutique are outrageously high for a game that upholds the "We run a free game" motto. In regard to the pigment system, just because the way something is being implemented doesn't mean that it's "good." And as demonostrated above, the amount of players' feedback showed the huge flaw in the current system.
Indeed one can always argue that if you don't like the way something is, then don't associate with it. That's bad logic. We enjoy this game. We want to see it get better. If they change this system, it will make everyone's life a lot more enjoyable, then it will benefit you(RedsRose) too as a player.0 -

Well... You have the right to your opinion of course but I spend a lot of money on this game though and currently none of it is going toward buying dyes or clothes because of the issue.
If they were to have color specific dye choices, they'd be making infinitely more money on dyes, from me anyway, than they do now which is none.
I imagine there are more people like me, who would be willing to spend even more if dye colors could be chosen, than there are people who would contribute more given the current system.
Imagine if people (For Christmas) could say "Buy me 10 red pigments please." You could respond: "Ok that'll be 25k each." (A little profit)
Then the same person comes back to you or another and wants to dye their clothes for the new year, or for easter, or whatever other holiday they feel like celebrating.
That certainly isn't happening now.
I would bet that anyone selling dyes as people wanted them would make WAAY more money (And consequently so would PWI from the increase in Zen purchases) by having repeat customers coming back season after season than they would by filling up their catshop with whatever random junk they couldn't use from their own attempt to get the colors they want.
But...
Neither of us knows which would sell more for PWI since the proposed system isn't available to compare to the existing one.
The financial aspects aside, I do feel having color specific dyes available in the cash shop would be a better system for customers.
*Crosses fingers*
Still hoping they make the change. ^_^[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Plus, this being the suggestions forum, I feel quite comfortable continuing this thread without following the "Just don't do it" advice hehe.
I'm not being rude, and of course just not doing it is an option but the suggestion forums serve the distinct purpose of forging change and providing new ideas in areas where there may not have been attention.
So yeah. My choice to spend my money, but I'd just like to spend more and get what I want.
