what's a good video capture program?

I know it's a very noob question and it's probably been asked before but I wanted to know. So what's a good, FREE video capture program for making vids of my game play?

  Fraps is probably most commonly used, but you can check with Xfire too.

  Working on sig atm, Im missing it due to lack of ideas.
