Socketing

After socketing an item, is it possible to take the gem out to be replaced by a higher grade gem? If so, how?

    It is, but you have to remove every shard at once, and the shards that were in it get destroyed.

    edit: oh, you do it at the tailor/blacksmith or the merchant/elder, I forget which

    I bought the sockets to add to my gear for added gems, and went to the merchant who is supposed to do it, but I can't put my stuff into the window. How is it done?

    Make sure you're not wearing the items, need to drag them to the window from your inventory b:victory
