Maverick, A Relaxed Guild

Hi! I’m not someone who has ever posted, but I just needed to point out this little gem I've found in Perfect World on Heaven's Tear. I came across this original post from JesterSig back in October when I was looking for a guild to join….and here’s my story…

I'm not someone with oodles of time, nor am I any expert on online games, but I've played Perfect World for a while for the fun and friends it's introduced to me from around the globe. I had gotten involved in Perfect World on the Malaysian server and fell in love with the world. When Perfect World International began, I decided to give it a go and much to my dismay, I ended up leaving my friends on the Malaysian server. Some of them initially stayed over there, but most drifted away from the game altogether…and I was left with the beautiful landscape as an empty shell without the relationships we grew…a little like Rip Van Winkle who fell asleep for 20 years to find his family and friends have long vanished.

So I decided to eke out a new life in Perfect World International…mostly because it fits my casual approach to meeting interesting friends online and it’s just simply too beautiful a place not to visit...But after flying around and meeting new folks, I still hadn’t found the right group. I bounced around from guild to guild and found the guilds were either too obsessed on leveling (if you don’t level every week-you get kicked out), or too selfish (sorry, I can’t help you…I need to work on my quests), or too needy (do this for me…give me that…give me this...ok, bye!) or just too juvenile (all the OMG, LOL, and WTF made my head spin!)

So I searched the forums looking for a glimmer of hope that a guild would be the right fit for me. I jotted down a few names and set out across the lands again to eventually find the welcoming smiles in Maverick.

Since I’ve joined, we've been having a great time. Over the past few months, I’ve been able to find friendly faces, interesting chats, helpful people, and a relaxed welcoming vibe whenever I visit.

We all realize that life has many demands on us, and the last thing we're looking for is another obligation. So, we tend to approach the game as a time for relaxing and enjoying down-time. Most of us have commitments and families and realize Perfect World is a long, if not endless, game...so we're not in a race to get the next level, but we're more interested in having a fun, meeting new friends, and helping each other along the way.

Like I said, I’m not a person to post, but I’m posting here because we are a small group so you may not have seen us around…but I know there may be others like me who are looking for a relaxed guild to enjoy the game with. Also, JesterSig tends to understate the simple beauty of a “relaxed” guild. So if you're interesting in playing with a mature, group of friends, let us know. We'd love to meet you!

If we’re not online, try again some other day – I am usually only on in the evenings…but not every day…we don’t make a life out of Perfect World, rather, we let Perfect World enhance our lives…and maybe through friendships and fun…we can make the real world itself a little more perfect…

The key to finding a friend…is to be a friend…

Just letting everyone know, we have welcomed quite a few new people into Maverick, but we still have room for other mature members. All levels are welcome; and although our ages span over a few generations, we all share a mature, positive attitude.


We keep our sense of humor, enjoy helping one another, and keep the guild chat lively. We do guild events and foster a cooperative attitude among faction members and non-members alike. We maintain the common belief that Perfect World is an experience that should be fun for all. (There is no need for angst here.)


Understanding that everyone has life commitments beyond Perfect World, the last thing we try to create is another obligation. We don't focus on territory wars, but we spend our time enjoying the journey of the game together.
