Mid lvl to high lvl gear question

Hi there guys, just a quick question that iv always wondered about.

Just always debating in AH when picking out gear on what to get, iv noticed i always have a hard time deciding to choose for the blue bonus stats on equips, between either +dex or +hp. If you had to choose for a pure build archer what would be suggested? or is there a ratio that could help me decide on what would be better, say like 1 dex to every 20 hp or whatnot.

Thanks guys! ^^

p.s: especially looking for some input from chaotic or higher lvl archers on this matter, since im pushing for hell build, and from what iv been told hell needs more hp whereas heaven archers can tank... <.< confused.. but...im all ears =)

mm currently im building on a pure dex build, with gear building my hp to about3175 at lvl 64 with a solarslayer+2. Crit rate is 15% atm, so im wondering if im on the right track?

All responses are welcome =)

I use HP gear over dex. I am level 77 with current equipment I have 3412 HP and 19% critical rate as pure dex. I don't really care for dex equipment unless it would add another critical percentage. You can go for dex if you're comfortable with your HP. I'm more than comfortable with current HP and have two equipment that doesn't have HP stats. Vambraces 2x pdef +118 and boots 3x pdef +94.

I'm not an archer so take this for what it's worth:

IMO, you can add HP by using stones and refining armor. There's no such thing as +dex stones, so I'd look for +dex EQ first.

lol nono i was not talking about socketing, i was talking about the blue bonuses on each equip you often see, such as +### resist, or whatnot. For archers its usually between dex and hp so i was always wondering which would be more suitable for a pure dex archer, and how much is like... TOO much hp for an archer in comparison to dmg

    HP.

You're an archer, the +dex is nice and all, but if you're pure you won't have to worry about the damage/acuracy/evasion it gives much anyway since you should already have a hue amount of dex. Thing is, though, since you're pure you'll need stones and refining to boost HP since your vit should only be at 5 or 3. So the only time the +dex will, IMO, be more important is when it adds another to your crit% because we all know how much archers need that crit. If it doesn't boost crit, though, the HP will be superior.

PvE? DEX, more damage/crit = faster killing, less chance to get hit.
    PvP? HP, no doubt.
Wondering how much longer these **** packs are going to be around.

Less chance to get hit- pointless you can never rely on that.

HP stones over anything. Pure DEX + refined equipment + HP stones. Hybrid builds fail badly at 90+.

You don't have to rely on it, if just happens. You get hit less often, period. If you do get hit, it hardly matters in a 1v1 PvE situation. So you're better off getting +DEX/crit gear, especially at lower levels.

if u plan to be doing alot of PvP in any form dueling, PK, TW HP is more important it would be like a comparison of 1dex/1hp in terms of value for PvP>.>

if u plan to just do PvE dex dex dex. the higher your dex, the more dmg, the more dmg u do the faster u can kill the mob and the faster u can kill the mob the less chance u have to take a hit. having 200 higher hp wont matter when u are doing 1 on 1 against a mob who MIGHT hit u got 1-2 hits if u miss and take 40% off your hp, those 200 isnt going to do anything unless u are silly enough to try aoe grinding solo or something insane

My vote goes with HP unless you swap out 1-2 equipments that would get you to the next critical.

Even from a purely PvE point of view you can, and will, accidentally aggro more than you want to (be it from chained aggro, spawn behind you, etc etc). Unless you want to pan around your camera 24/7 and play in a constant adrenal-fueled state, more HP, along with an HP charm, make grinding a lot more bearable (to me, at least). Also, unless all you plan to do is grind mobs to no end, more HP also open up more bossing possibilities.

Survival is of some concern, even in PvE, otherwise everybody would use only enough STR to wield the weapon and wear rank armor. Evasion from the extra dex is pretty much 100% negligible in PvE as 98%+ of the enemies you'd grind on above level 40 would deal ranged magical damage.

And finally, more HP opens up PvP possibilities. TW is the main one, and also PK if you're into that kind of things.

I have encounters monsters in dungeons which can not be knocked back. Players also can not be knocked back. However you can knock back pets in TW.
