Serious Marriage Question

The situation
==========

I have a playing partner and we have two couples that have quested together since their first tentative steps out of the starter villages. We always intended that each couple would get married ingame (awww) so recently my Barb and her Veno got hitched - yay.

However (you knew this was coming) we don't play as our Elves much (my Cleric to her Archer) and due to incomplete communication between us in the early stages (doh!) it now turns out that she prefers to play as her veno and me as my Cleric.

The question
==========

If anyone has experienced this kinda thing before (then wow!) what happens to a married couple if one of the couple is deleted? I'm not that keen on my Barb (coz he's rubbish) and would be quite happy to delete him and let my Cleric catch up her veno in terms of levels. But would she still be considered by the game to be married if I deleted the Barb?

Clearly we'll have to do a lot more questing and grinding to afford ANOTHER wedding but if we could avoid the additional expense of a divorce (and the inevitable questions from friends of the characters - sigh) then obviously we would prefer to do this.

Constructive thoughts and opinions always appreciated - thank you in advance for any of them ;)

    she would still be married to your barb, even when that char is deleted. the only way to stay married to you would be to divorce your barb, and remarry your cleric. yea, it kinda sucks, but that's how it goes. good luck~

    my IRL husband and i have the same problem, in some ways. we both play and both have more than one character. and we dont have, or want to waste, the gobs of money that it would cost for the ingame wedding, plus the hassel of having extra titles over our heads. so we got the wedding outfits, and had our own ceremony...and we consider this to be just as much a marriage as one that puts our money in the game's pocket, and still leaves us able to play whichever characer needs work at the time
