Starting to compromise

Ok since there does seem to be a fifty-fifty on the server transfers I thought it's about time to make a thread on ways to make it so that everyone can be happy. I have come up with 2 different ways that we could easily be done and they both could satisfy the needs of all players in the game:
Option 1) Allow character transfers but make a restriction on those characters. They have to transfer with out a faction and if they switch they aren't allowed to enter factions for a month, that solves TW problems. For the economy the only thing transferred is the equipment they are wearing and whatever is in their inventory nothing from the bank, that way they are forced to only bring the things they need while the bank becomes empty.
Option 2) Do not allow character transfers but do something to clean up the lag in the server. Put an instance gate in West Archosaur (preferably near crazy stone) That leads to a different part of the server storage space for people to set up consignment shops. Make the area like the instances where they are only connected to the overworld by this gate. Make it so that there can be no consignment shops on the overworld either and make the "merchant's instance" an empty castle with only a gate out that's nearly as big as Archosaur. That and adjustable clocks for the different time zones.
Those are my suggestions to resolve this issue. Just tell me what you think.

I do think there should be character transfers eventually, but I don't like any of the options you have listed there.
Expecting them to re-code a free-to-play game (keeping transfers from participating for a month) doesn't seem realistic.
And, yes, I posted my opinion in the other thread.0 -
I didn't consider putting own options in here @ the time I started the thread. If you have ideas feel free to post them on this thread. THis thread was made for this so use it all you can.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0

Ahh, I see.
Like I said, I don't think Option 1 is all that realistic. Only because it's based on restricting another person's gameplay. (Yes, lag is restricting, all on it's own, hence this situation.)
Option 2 would be nice, since it would make it easier for everyone, in general. But, it would nullify the reasoning of having the two east coast servers, we have now, to begin with.
My suggestion on transfers was a bit more detailed, and involved a wait time:
1) Allow transfers when the new server and it's economy is established (4-6 months),
2) Require a fee of $25-$50 per character,
3) There should be a cooldown on transfers (you can only transfer the same character once every 2 months or so), or make it a one time only per character thing,
4) Transferring characters can only bring their current equipment & fashion that they are wearing,
5) Transferring characters can only bring a certain amount of money (like 20k per level; so a level 50 can bring 1,000,000 at most)
6) Transferring characters should not have any mail pending, and should be faction-less.
The only way I see top level characters being moved to a brand new server, is if they purposely split an overcrowded server. Which is not the case here, at least, from PWI's reasoning. They presented the two new servers specifically to reduce the lag for the east coast and european players.
And, yes, as someone who lives in New Jersey, I could feel difference between HeavensTear(PvE, west) and DreamWeaver(PvE, east). I was able to do the human jumping quests on the first try on DreamWeaver. It took me a few tries to complete them on HeavensTear. On the PW:MY/Eng server, it took me sooooo many tries to complete them (I actually had to strip my character down naked, and utilize all the lag-reducing options to complete them on the MY/Eng server).
So, if you're on the US east coast/Europe, I think the switch would be worth it for you, if you are experiencing lag issues on the west coast servers. I'm not talking about strolling through the main city type of lag. I mean response time lag, when you're just trying to get things done, out in field or in an instance. That minor reduction in latency, 90ms HeavensTear vs 30ms Dreamweaver, seems to make a world of difference.0 -
Yes I was trying to think of god knows how many issues that popped up when I suggested the server transfers to begin with and i'm trying to think of anything possable to make those go away. Your idea is fair i have to give you that. But currently they need some sort of resolution for the lag rather then 4-6 months later.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0

i mean theres the fact of the name alrdy being taken thing.but make it so that it includes a name change if it has been taken.
just a thought
Another idea from someone who posted on a different thread. I don't think this really solves any of the major issues of transfering that was even brought up on the last thread before this.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0
