Sorry for all the questions but i am planning for the future and i was wondering which stone (alabaster or saphire) would be better when i fully invest into a high level weapon?? Is is just a matter of preference? or is there truely a "better" one which increases your dmg more than the other stone? All i can see right now is that plume shot would not increase if i went with alabaster because it is not a metal spell, but im more concered in the dmg difference in my metal spells between the two stones.

please shed some light. thanks.

Those shards that give say +Fire damage +Metal damage +Earth damage etc only work with melee those shards would have no effect on your ranged spells.

I'd say Sapphire for all round extra power.

second note investing in physical defence shards/HP shards would be an preferrd option.

You can't actually add physical defence on to weapons as when fused to a weapon the garnet shard gives physical attack.

Hp is still an option, but most people would prefer to add magical attack and then sort out hp/physical defence by sharding and refining their armours.
