Pet isn't getting hungry?

I've got a little pet problem.
I've recently bought a huggy hare (proudly using it ever since). Now, I wasn't aware that the little bugger needed to be fed, up until a couple of people mentioned it. But here's the thing: I haven't fed him in hours, still there's no visible deterioration of loyalty, nor is the bunny-icon indicating that it's hungry.

Could this be a bug in the making?

    If you got a baby huggy hare, then everything is fine. All-class pets don't need to be fed.
