Question About Sword BM

Im currently downloading the game, and I have never played it before.

Although, I do consider myself very experienced when it comes to mmorpgs seeing as how I have decent characters in games such as Tales of Pirates, World of Warcraft, Runescape, Phantasy Star Universe.

From what I have read in the game information, I either want to be a Blade Master or a Archer. Most likely a Sword Blade Master. I'll want to be good at PvP while still being able to solo pve efficiently.

I've read about the stats, so I understand what to do there. Although im somewhat confused on how skills are allocated, and where to put my skill points into. I've read up on which of them are useful, and which aren't, but I would like a more in-depth guide on what level to add what.

If somebody could help, or link me to a thread that answers this question it would be greatly appreciated.

Remember, I haven't even played this game yet, so I may be going on about something unnecessary so let me know if I am. Thanks! b:laugh

    if you want to PvE either sword warrior or archer is fine.
    If you want to have fun in pvp and do great, Roll archer.
    Sword' Warriors fail for pvp.

    Hmm. I haven't looked too far into archer, I think i'll go do that now.

    From what I read, it seems archers are expensive and hard to grind with. Not something I would want to start with, but maybe make one when I have more in-game experience.

    i myself have a lvl 63 sword blade master, and i think there great, sword bm rarely miss a shot, and i can tank alot of creatures, bosses, and even fb 51 without an issue (at least with good cleric) and once i hit lvl 80 i get my duel tt weapons, which do quite the damage, we also if properly built were heavy armor just like axe bms, i can pvp most other classes have trouble with some barbs, and some axe bms, but besides that most of the time i dont usually have issues with any other classes, i myself think that sword bms are underestimated but thats just my opinion

    I agree with blknite. Sword BMs are kinda underestimated. On my old BM I could pvp and pve just fine and still come out alive, so to speak.

    Dont underestimate pole users they can tank well and we can chose swords later in game.
    Other then that if you like killing monsters fast and effeciently try going as an Axe Blademaster. Swords are more based on One vs One. Plus the other thing dont level your mag stat its useless level either your dex str or vit you will be much happier.

    this is blknites char- i was actually wondering how many aos axe bm actually have cause i know as sword i have 4 including stun.

    go sword BM up till lvl 70, then switch to fists, your DPS will be off the charts.

    My observations -
    Polearm Blademasters tend to own other BMs.

    Archers can't PVE without a hp charm which dies fast, my archer was only lvl 44 pure dex so I only know upto that.

    Sword BM's do fine in pvp compared to other BM's till level 70 (when axe BM's get calamity axes), swords are very fast and cheap for killing mobs 1v1 plus with several high damage single target attacks they can get some very nice hits on single targets.

    Axe's will out pvp you after about 70 with calamity axes though as they will do alot of damage to several targets which can clean up groups of robes very fast.
