Are Ingame Text Symbols Permitted?

I see a lot of venomancers with pets with symbols in front of and behind their pet name (hearts, stars, circles, male/female sign, etc etc)

I know how this is done...however, my question is...

Is this permitted? If I use symbols on my pet name can I get banned for doing this?

    You're not allowed to have them in your name, because it'd make it too hard to contact you, and stuff like that.
    However, GM's are a lot more lenient when it comes to pet names. You never have to type that name anyway, so most of the time, no action will be taken. However, if your pet name is offensive or something like that, you will suffer consequences, obviously.

    I still am a bit confused over this topic.
    From your response i couldn't tell if this is allowed or not.

    As long as I don't use symbols in my player name...
    As long as I don't use offensive pet/player names...

    Then am I allowed to use symbols on my pet name?

    Sometimes people confuse "stylish" with "tacky". For instance (although I know these aren't the symbols you're referring too) *^_OOBugOO_^*

    Why not just name it "Bug"?

    Umm what about that completely chinese symboled guild in heavens tear that has been there about 2 months?
    lmao or that GM alt in heavens tear in Enrage named PENISLAND ?
    Can I name my pet VaginaBlood?

    GM alt: I highly doubt that's a gm alt. Regardless, that name is offensive and needs reporting.

    pretty sure that there are no GM's poking around in other guilds as alts with such a name. plus, we've banned users in the past with that exact name.

    feel free to PM me a recent screenshot if you have any of Mr. Pen Island and I will take a look into the situation.

    If you're talking about Transcendent, they were asked by the GMs to change their name, which they did to Kritical. If it's a new guild that's using chinese symbols, they will probably have the same fate.
