Dropping items when dying even with Blue name

Title says it all.

There have been one instance for me and several of my friends who, when we die, have dropped items from our inventory. We are not in pk mode and never have been. It was not an accidental drag and drop. When we died, items randomly dropped from our inventory ( 5 fine lumber out of a stack of 50+ for me). This has happened i know 2 or 3 times within the past 2 weeks.

Is this something that is being implemented in the game and we have not been told about it or is this a bug?

It is really unnerving to say that least. I am scared to carry anything of importance with me anymore.

    Yup, there is a small chance you will drop something from your inventory. Very small chance.

    Do we know what the percent is on dropping items from our inventory with a blue name?

    Do we know if there is anything that can be done to reduce/eliminate the dropping of items when killed by a mob?

    Has this been a new addition or always present?

    Do equipped items have the same chances?

    Are there any exceptions to the drop rule such as cash shop items?

    1) Edit: 1% chance, thanks Reds.

    2) Guardian Angels will prevent dropping stuff. So will binding an item. Both pretty extreme given the very low drop rate, but i guess I wouldn't think so if i dropped something important.

    3) always present

    4) white/blue names can only drop from invo, not equipped stuff.

    5) nope, you can drop mounts, fashion, w/e if it's in your inventory.

    This is what I've gleaned from the various threads about it. Pretty important stuff to the Lost City folk and some good research out there.

    Essentially here is the drop rate for all IF killed but a mob:

    99% chance to drop nothing
    1% chance to drop item

    This changes with PvP. See link below for all drop %'s

    Thanks for the responses. Out of all the times i have died it's only happened once. I guess it would have helped if i had read all the info on the gameb:chuckle

    Guess i will have to be more careful. I would hate to have something important drop. b:cry
