I started a BM and made axe build with slight increase on dex.
But now I've started having doubts about which is better for soloing. Axe/hammer or blade/sword? with 2 lvls of dex, i could make blade BM. which 1 has better survivability? i hear that sword/blade get chi fast (fast attack pace) and skills are my way to fight but no skill can kill mob if user is dead. so which soloes better? survivability wise. Sword/Blade or Axe/Hammer?

plz help and thx for helpers in advance. Also i couldn't get this info from BM guide here so plz write some advice and don't just point me to that sticky post (even though it is good)

Okay. I'm quite new my self. I have a blademaster, my only class. I've done some lvling, some pvping, ect. Heres what I discoverd. The sword/blade with proper stats str*dex will take out a mob like its paper. The duel/axe will take a bit, but it does the job, toss some accuracy stones in your weap, put a bit tword dex instead of all vit and you will do fine. Heres the thing, if you get rolled on a pvp server, the duel axe will save you with your stuns, give you a chance to escape, or to beef them on yourself. Also, depends again, i found the blade/sword amazing in 1v1 pvp with the right stats/build. ( i made a 2nd BM for this). As a sword/blade u must be able to take caution in level, you will level slower. However when getting rolled by 1 or 2, or when playing ninja and rolling another. The sword/blade dominates. I come to believe that 2 BMs in pking is a great combo. One duel axe, one sword. One stuns, the other takes out the clerics/mages ect. While the duel axe keeps the melees occupied with stuns, ect.

Right now, either one would work. But as you rise in lvls, the axes become better for solo grinding. Axes have more aoes and stunning skills. Swords are pretty good too, but you will only be able to take on 2 or 3 mobs at once. Axe bms can take on 5 or 6 at once, due to all of their aoes. Axe bms lvl faster than any other type of bm.

I just started, but from what I have been learning and so far for me, axe's with a bit of dex works really nice. I can kill mobs in about 5-10 seconds right now with mine. It just about getting the right chemistry I guess xP

    - Axes have AoEs
    - Axes have Berserk
    - Axes help you gain a lot of Vitality
    - Axes win

    - All other weapons fail.

It is what it is, the game isn't all to balanced for now. So in practicality, in the long run, making money\killing mobs fast and by the dozens with aoes, axe always comes out on top..in build.

    other weapons don't fail..
axes are made PvE for killing multiple mobs or people
spear is made for PvP for killing one mob quickly with a very low chance for missing
swords are for balanced PvE/PvP they attack quickly and deal decent damage
fists are made for being able to attack and do damage more quickly even though they have lower attack with a higher chance for crits and a more likelyness for them so they can do like 3 crits in a row and they are also good for PvE plus they give chi faster
probably one of the smartest in perfect world
    yet the lowest of level

    - lol they can't take aggro off a tank their level on normal hits
    - All weapons have AoEs
    - All weapons 90+ have beserk
    - Un-true, I was an axe BM, went fists, i had more HP
    - In AoEing, yes because they have the most AoEs
    - No sir, you fail.

HP is independent of what weapon you choose. If you choose to put all your extra points (with the bare minimum to use weapons and armor).

I'm not sure, dont fist builds usually have either light armor or less hp? (Due to high dex req)

Pick a mastery. level this weapon mastery skill up as soon as new level becomes available

make a long term goal to obtain either legendary or TT weapons or 3-star ones with good stats and do not settle for less.

Make your priority to update your most useful AoE skills. Even Sword path which I would consider underpowered can wield 3 AoE skills. 4 if you add stun. If you learn to use them in right order you'll do fine.

Roar is your another priority skill. casting Roar prior fight means you get 4-5 strikes done before mob starts fight back. It interrupts casting magic. it's your class specialty. it gives you breather when multiple enemies start to overcome you, 5sec stun is enough to use Diamond Sutra and continue fighting (bursting another AoE, maybe) before stun wears off.

I cannot see how you fail when doing all that

It's worth noting that you can have a pretty decent VIT (60ish) and qualify for both axes and swords appropriate to your level, so, if you have the resources, you don't have to choose. The sword skills aren't terribly impressive, so you don't need to burn much Spirit on them, and you can focus on your axe skills. Right now, in the 7x levels, I have a Ghoulish Sword for 1v1, and it's great to use on bosses to build Chi to burn on Heaven's Flame with my axes. (And, to contradict the earlier person who claimed axes give more VIT, I lose HP when I switch to my axes.)

Same here, normal attack for swords and axe for dragons on bosses. I would have used fist for the purpose of chi building but I would lose too much vit when i restat.
