Hercules or Phoenix (Which should be 1st?)

Just to be clear.. I am on Lost City server.

I know Phoenix is win for PvP and Hercules is win for PvE.

Being that these are very expensive to acquire.. it will take a while to get them both. Sooo ... which do you recommend?

I was thinking even though Phoenix seems like the go to pet on pvp server... I was thinking maybe Hercules to help me farm more money to get Phoenix?

Feedback appreciated. Is Phoenix any good for farming? Since Hercules is land based... I will just assume its bad for pvp.

    I prefer the Phoenix pet, my reasons would be the following:

    You are quite right when you say that the Hercules is a land based tank, well that being said, land based doesn't really help when you fly. Phoenix, on the other hand is a very good flying pet. At lvl 30, I had no problems taking out level 45-50 mobs, maybe only losing 1/5 of my total HP(pet)
    >Skills:
    Simply put: Phoenix: Damage and Herc: Self preservation.

    Finally, its just that, if you want a tank (think crystal magnecite) get the herc.
    If you want a DD (damage dealer) go phoenix

    It's always hercules first if you're planning on getting both. Once you can solo fb's and TT's, you can earn money a lot quicker for the phoenix.

    I recommend phoenix first if you're low level (below 60). You can't really solo anything yet where you'll make money, so you might as well get the bird to level faster. Also, since it will reduce all your costs having a good pet, by the time you get to 60 you'll already be well on your way to getting a herc.


    Herc imo is only really good for farming above level 60, before that you don't really need to farm dungeons the same way

    Thx for all the replies...

    This all was my same thinking which is why it makes it hard...use herc to farm for phoenix.

    However, you do have a point about not farming until way later in the game (I need to level 1st).... so it makes sense to save herc for when I am farming at that level. The question is do I get one of these cash shop pets now or then....

    What level can I get and use the Hercules or Phoenix pets?
    Is the soonest level 30? Or, can I do it right now if I really wanted to?

    Didnt realize all it eats is Hay.. time to start getting hay i suppose.

    Or buy a Arcane Pet Book, from cash shop for 2 gold, keeps pet unneeded to be fed a ***week***(except to raise loyalty)

    Alternately, buy 20zen, gold exchange for 2mil, buy Christmas blessing, then you never have to feed it(works as an arcane pet book, ***forever***)

    Whoa really? I thought Christmas blessing was for 1% crit (at least that was what was written on one of the Christmas blessing charms i saw when I inspected someone.)

    Are there different kinds of blessings? Or do they give different bonuses depending on character?

    Keeping pets fed is a hidden bonus. It won't raise loyalty, so you still need to get it up and feed it if it dies, but you won't have to feed every 5 minutes.

    I picked one of these Christmas Blessings not long ago.. making a world of difference.

    Definitely will save me money over feeding Phoenix Ginseng .. or buyin those 7 day cash shop items.

    so im now lvl 53 would it be better for me to get the hercules before the pheonix if im guna get both cos then i can do TTs at 60?

    I also suggest you take the Hercules first. When it higher lvl, you can farm easily... and most important, can solo most boss even the boss is at 5-10 lvl higher than you.

    Hercules is more on tanking basis, and can be a better tanker than Barbs...
    Phoenix is more to damage dealer, hence PvP requires it alot. But as a Mage Veno, I will prefer a tanker than a DD, as I can be the DD myself.. =)
