Hi,names Blackleaf.I am concerned with something. If someone sent a GM a ticket saying they lost a rare item, but actually haven't even had that item, how do GM's know if he/she is lieing, and are only trying to do that so they get money.
Can you get banned for this action if it is possible to spot please post on my thread.
Thank you
Sincerely, Blackleaf

The GMs can see everything your character has ever said, ever done, everywhere they have ever been. The GMs can find out anything they want to about your character. If you never had the item, they would know. As for what they would do to you for trying to scam them, I would not know.

I'm sure if the log files don't show this person having had the item, the response will be. "sorry our logs don't show anything, have a nice day".

I always have fraps running when I am in game. Recording everything. WC's, PM's etc. Every item I pick up is logged via fraps. Every item I sell or drop, same thing. Not everyones comp can do that, but at least I have records of what I own if something comes up missing (gotta love terrabyte drives!)

Basically, w/o proof the item was there.. I'd say the response will be "oh well, have a nice day"

Wow, what a colossal waste. Not only is it a waste but would have no bearing on any dispute except maybe chat issues. Even if you have a video of you picking up something, if its not in your characters logs, you didnt pick it up.

I love it when people tell me that recording what I do in PWI all the time is a waste.

I record everything because (gasps) I rarely know what I am gonna be doing, and never know if anything I do will end up in one of my vids. I would rather have a large source of vids to go through, than miss something and wish I had caught it on fraps.

And I have more than enough hard drive space, 4 drives, 2 of which are USB terrabyte backup drives JUST for recording to. So I can record everything I do in this game for a very very long time.

*edit* And actually your wrong, it would have bearing on a dispute. Why do you think they ask for screenshots hmmm? Visual records of people "bugging Gouf" etc. as an example.

In the case of you recording that you got an item, if it differed from their logs, then you'd still be out of luck. Because its easy to show them the vid of you getting the item, but of course not mention the video of you selling it to someone, or if on a PvP server, losing it cause you forgot to bring GAs one day. Whatever the reason, its possible for you to have had an item, but get rid or lose it, and then try to scam the GMs to get it back. So their logs rule regardless of what your videos would say in the missing item scenario.

My original response to the OP..

And as I stated, having a Visual Record has a BEARING on the outcome. From Dictionary.com: 5. reference or relation (usually fol. by on): It has some bearing on the problem.

But as you stated, isn't the end all of proof.

And where have I ever said it wasn't? Or implied it wasn't? I'm a GEEK. I make my living off computers. It only stands to reason I'd enjoy the hell out of playing on them as well.

Also, from what Im aware, if there is a breach of security on your account and items etc, they dont roll back gears o:. Even if someone did try to "scam" it wouldnt be successful
