Upgrading rides

So I'm a little confused about upgrading rides in general...

I have an upgraded (10mps) Sika deer, can I upgrade it to 11mps?

And if I can, what spurs do I use?

Finally, does anyone know what speed the DQ horses start at, and can they be upgraded to 11mps?

    Spurs can only upgrade mounts to a maximum speed of 10. After that, you will have to level up the mount to get it to 11. If the mount starts at a speed of 10 (such as the Hell Hound or Ancient Boa) it cannot be upgraded at all.

    Violet Lightning and Silvermane both start at a speed of 8.

    So just to clarify, level 11=11mps if your mount is 10mps?

    All mounts have their speed increased by 0.1 per level, which means an increase of 1.0 at max level. Keep in mind that the highest speed any mount can attain with spurs is 10. In order to get a speed of 11 on any mount, you must level it up.

    Is it possible to spur the horses sold by the pet manager (Crimson Leaper and Dark Charger)?

    So wait, can you spur the hell hound? I was going to get one but I am only a level 47.

    Hell Hounds are already at a speed of 10, so they can't be spurred. The Crimson Leaper and Dark Charger can be spurred.

    So in order to maximize my mount's speed, I have to spur it before it is lvled up by riding? Or does the order of spurring/lvling up matter?
