Ok, for a while now I've been thinking about getting the ultimate tank for my veno: Hercules.

Problem is I don't have ANY real money to spare and I can't see any feasible way to get 20 million coins without clawing out my eyeballs (when I say that I'm talking about a farm fest).

Is there anyone out here who managed to save up the money to get a legendary pet and lived to tell the tale? If so, please share your advice! b:pleased

    I have a herc and I spent no real money. My way to do it? Grind, NPC all the dragon quest items.

    meh i'm trying to save up for one too but on grinding...i'm only online about 2-3 hrs a day. minus the daily and world quests i probably grind an hour+ each day. earnings per day amount to about 150k+
    This will take forever b:sad

    I farmed the 20mil for a herc, and am alive.. I think. Sadly I bought the phoenix first, so made 20mil the slow way twice. (solo mode TT1-1 for about a month straight and nothing else)

    so how are the drops from TT1-1?
    I hear they are just terrible. I know you are a HT'er but I havent found any great ways of makin money and I would love to just pound my way through an instance. Decent money obviously?

    They are terrible, lol. I would make like 80k a run, probably better off grinding.

    Though when you get a herc you can solo squad mode, which doesnt take ulti sub, and drops more.(provided you have 3 friends to help you open the door)

    Hmm, I could do that! I'd find it more appealing than grinding or farming. How many times per day did you do it?

    catch rare pets and sell, bear cost 1m or so? seems easy and fast money if u r lucky and catch them

    I'm lvl 68 and I saved up about 18 mil in coins so it's not impossible. I don't know which server you're on but on Sanctuary, it will cost more than 20 mil for a legendary pet due to Boutique exploit that happened not long ago. Don't even think about catching the Cub unless you got a lot of -channeling gear because there are always about a billion people camping. I got lucky and tamed one and gave up on camping since.

    I saved up the coin and bought my hercules without spending any real money. I did lots of TT 1-1 runs at first, but gave them up eventually as prices for TT loot declined. I recommend Zoe's approach: grind and sell the loot to NPCs. That has the added benefit of giving you experience (and reputation if you grind repeatable quests).

    Who says you start running out of quests at level 40? If you think of getting your Hercules as a grand, epic quest spanning many levels, you can actually enjoy it. Having a major goal to work toward makes MMORPGs more fun.

    Gold prices on Heaven's Tear have largely recovered from the Friday the 13th Fiasco, so you should be fine there.

The herc is true beast for tanking but for every day grinding and leveling, the phoenix high attack makes it a lot more useful. ** But then again you can solo world bosses or Tank just about anything with a herc too.

    I actually plan to get both, but I figured that if I had a herc I could solo team mode TT or something and make the 20 mil again much easier.

    If you wanted to do that it would work very well.

    You can make a lot of money by soloin FBs and decompose the three stars drop in mirage.

    all fb boss has a chance to drop three stars items, for my part i got a lot of it in FB 19 and 29 (not able to solo others atm)

    I'm in the middle of gathering another 20 mil to buy a phoenix. I have 40 feathers and 2 million coins so far, all from grinding.

    I give up my phoenix dream. I stopped grinding 5 levels ago. and I am too tired to do HH even I have a Herc. drops in solo is terrible, and solo squad take too long for me. I did few 1-2 solo to get mats I need (still have not get all I need yet). it takes me 3 hours to solo 1-2 squad, even I only kill 3 bosses.

    Like the other said : grind and sell all the drops you get, and pick up all the coins that drops.

    Dont use your money on skill you seldom use.

    Don't spend your money on useless items.

    Learn to use Metabolic Boost / Nature's Grace / Soul Transfusion efficiently. I'm at level 91 and I never had to buy one potion so far. Those I drop are more than enough (I even had to make a mule to temporarily store the potions I have in excess)

    At lower levels it takes more time to accumulate money. But as you level up, the items you drops will be more valuable.
