just got a question:
do barbs get money easy?
i am not looking forward to be filthily rich, but have enough for equipments, pots, charms and other necessary equipments?
i've read and heard others saying that you will have very large repair bills
can anyone please help me by answering the question please.
thanks in advance

I can't tell you for later then lvl50, but here's my experience.
- Till lvl29 you'll have no problems at all. There won't be much actuall tanking, because bosses are still pretty rare. Hower from lvl20 on, repairs get a bit higher.
- After that, you'll have to pay attention not to through your money away. Use your good running speed to save on teleports, try to craft your own stuff, etc. I did this, and eventhough I've never been rich, I've always been able to buy the skills and get the repairs done.
If you already start paying attention to your coins at lvl15 (I did through some coins in useless stuff at that lvl), your fiinancial situation will probably be better then mine through the game.0 -
thank you very much for the reply0

Well, as a barbarian you are gonna be the guy that gets hit. Naturally the repair bills stack up. I have a habit of repairing at small intervals frequently. This ensures that even if I enter an FB without pausing to repair, then I have no worries. Also paying 10K frequently seems easier than paying 100K when somethings about to break.
At my level an FB run generally costs anywhere between 20-40K in repairs. A TT run can cost between 50-80K in repairs.
But then again at my level, the major cost is the next set of skills. Each skill upgrade now costs me between 200-300K coins. Thats a lotta money to throw away and I have been forced to let my skills lag a level or two.
I have decent EQ atm, but nothing grand like legenary or TT stuff (besides axes), just plain normal 2-3stars.
Im dreading the lvl89 skills. 5mil per skillbook and another 1mil to learn?? b:shocked
Damn thats expensive. b:cryWhen the going gets tough; Get a tank!

then, how do you make money?0

Sell what you dont use (mats, DQs, and such), whether its in a cat shop or to NPCs. If you have room for something in your inventory pick it up. The little things add up. There are plenty of times when I see other players leaving piles of coin all over as they grind. Watch them for a sec and if they are not interested in it, scoop it up. I have yet to hear a complaint from anyone about that. If you're a smith, making some good weapons can make you some coin too if you don't have to buy many of the mats.0

Yeah, due to the Melee style of play a barb is your gonna have lots of repair cost, and cost for an hp charm or lots of pots. If you really are concerned about your funds, start an alt Veno, they dont really take any damage and can sell pet eggs, and if your not playing her to be a viable weapon you are not gonna dump huge coin into her.
Its just a thought0 -

There are quite some barbs doing this. If you manage to capture a tabby/cub you'll be confertable for some time. Golems also sell quite well.
The best way to make easy money is to grind on mobs that have a high droprate of dq items. They give you the most coins. Also, always check on the equipment that drops. Some have nice stats, and can be sold through the auction house so you can make some more coins out of it.
What's most important in my opinion, is to always think twice when you want to spend money on anything else than skills/repairs. Personnaly, I've saved a lot of money on pots and teleport. I prefer to have it take some more time, so I can save up some coins.0 -
eliminating the use of ports helps alot, and if you are willing to set up a kitty store when you are afk, you can sell herbs and mats that you can farm along the way. I do that alot.0

thank you very much for all the replies
think i'll start a veno as an alt0 -
i take the time to make powders and stuff where i dont have to drink pots all the time. That life powder stuff really works ,and with Barb Hp regen. i heal in no time. i know i'm still a low lvl but i'm saving all the money i can. I'll make my own celepills and TRY to make my own weapons, better to lose time than money... anyone else feel me on this one?ATTENTION ALL: I would just like you to know....I has fleas.0

i kill the mobs that are given to you on a quest becuase it always seems that if you need to collect things from hte mobs they give you something comletely different like i was killing lvl 27 mobs and i needed to get some type of item(i forget what) and in one hour i had like 20k in DQ alone not including all of the equipment that i also got and within 2 hours i got 76k...which isn't bad for a lvl 25 barb

I totally agree with you. I try to keep my feral regeneration maxed, so I can avoid using pots all the time. I also do a lot of quests just using buffs like poison fang, beastking's inspiration and recently strengt of titans to save on mana pots. However, a tank build barb isn't the fastest class to lvl, and doing this makes it even slower. I don't really mind, since I'm a rather patient guy. But if you want to lvl faster, then you should take into account the cost of extra pots. Some poeple prefer losing money rather then time.0 -
forgot to mention if you want to keep most of your money only lvl the regeneration unless you have extra money you know you can spare becuase lvling the other skills costs to much only lvl the ones you can't live without.probably one of the smartest in perfect world
