Help wtih pet skills

I was wondering if those of you with more experience would help with some advice for best skills for my pets. I am a PVE player at level 28 right now that would like to be a valuable asset in the future for FB's and such. If you could look at the following stats and let me know what I should level up and what I should replace I would really appreciate it. Also, I was wondering if you can obtain more slots for skills for your pets or are they limited to what they come with?

Currently have:

Shaodu Cub: Pierce lvl 1
Bash lvl 2
Boost lvl 1

C.Magmite: Bash lvl 2
Boost lvl 1

Phoenix: Pounce lvl 2
Blessing lvl 5
Claw lvl 5

I realize that I'm just low level and still learning but I would like to do it as right as possible while I'm gaining experience.

    Give the phoenix Flesh Ream. Skills for the golem really depend on how soon you plan on getting a herc. If you think it will be soon, you don't necessarily have to skill up the golem just yet. Eventually you will want to, though, as the golem is typically better for everyday grinding since regular mobs are no threat to it and you will kill them all that much faster. Max bash of course, and I like Tough for "just in case". I also gave my golem threaten and roar since I won't be getting a herc any time soon. He is a beast.

    I have no input on the shadou.

    Also, you have quite a few levels before you really start noticing if your pets are falling behind on skills. So don't worry too much if you don't want to spend the coin just yet.

    So how do you give your golem more than 2 skills? I only see 2 spots showing for skills. Is there a way to get more skill slots?

    Thanks for the info, I will get the Flesh Ream when I can afford to for the Phoenix and work slowly on the rest. I would like to get both the cub and the golem roar as I understand this will insure they pull/keep aggro. but I need to figure out the part about more skill slots. What I posted above for my pet stats shows the amount of spots they have and are filled. So, if there is no way to get more then I would need to know what to get rid of in order to replace with Roar or Threaten.

    Pets can know a max of 4 skills. To learn a skill they don't already have you will need a skill scroll. Mrs. Zoologist will then teach it to your pet at a cost of spirit. She also sells most of the scrolls, and the Tame book to upgrade already known skills. You can occasionally find these on the AH, but it has been my experience that they tend to be rare.

    If your pet has a skill that you don't think you need, or you need to drop one of the 4 to make room another one, you can also get a Forget scroll from Mrs. Z for...100k I believe. For example I dropped Sand Blow from my golem to make room for the 4 that I wanted.

    That's a pretty decent link for pet skills. Threaten is listed correctly, though in the game it has a typo.

    Oh, I see, I get it now. Thank you. I saw all that at the zoologist but didn't understand it. You have been a great help. It can be so confusing, lol. Thanks again for all your help.

    speaking of phoenix and hercs, how much do they cost (in-game coins).

    can you pls give me a price for getting feather/force
    AND
    a herc/phoenix

    Only way to get feathers/force directly is through the cash shop.

    You can buy them from other players. By my calculations, the nominal price (based on a 100k per gold exchange rate) is ~1900 coin per feather/force. More than that and you're on average better off converting your coin to gold and buying the battle pet packs yourself. I've only seen them on cat shops from 2100-2500. I guess if you only need one or two more that might be worth it.

    By the same measure (100k/gold exchange rate), the nominal selling price for a herc ticket should be ~19 million. More than that and, again, you're better off converting your coin to gold and buying the battle pet packs yourself. The one I saw for sale on a cat shop was 25 million I think.

    lol 2k for a feather/force

    the more common ones i've seen at about 5k and that's cheap. some even go up to 10k each

    ridiculous.

    On our server feathers/source have been running around 2.5k each, give or take a few hundred, particularly now with recent inflation. So by going that route expect to pay between 20 and 25 million, assuming to try to be as frugal as possible. It could run upwards of 30 million if you just grab every one you see.

    Mathematically speaking, it will take an average of 186.5 Gold to acquire a combined total of 9999 items if you open the battlepacks yourself. It's a gamble, since averages are not guaranteed, but you could potentially end up spending far less than average. The flip-side of course is that it could cost you a lot more too.

    I had read somewhere that the average cost was 186.5 and it was pretty darn close, I ended up spending 181. and a huge amount of time opening all the #@!##@ packs!
