    why are cultivation quests important?

    why are cultivation quests important?

The reason why cultivation quests are important is because cultivations are like "class upgrades" of sorts. Doing the quests will give two main game-play benefits.

The first is, simply, SP. You will not have enough SP to buy all of your skills and you will have to devote yourself to certain portions of your skill tree as best you can manage. Until around level 86, most people will not have enough SP to buy ALL of their skills out.
Cultivation quests don't really give money or exp at the end but they DO give a large chunk of SP.

The second importance for cultivation quests is that they give you access to higher level skills. You may notice if you hit a certain level (29,39,49,59, etc etc) you will not be able to buy certain skills. That is because for certain skills you need to have achieved a certain cultivation rank. In order to "rank up" your cultivation, you need to complete the cultivation quest for that level range.

Thirdly, for those who enjoy figuring out storylines to games and such, the Cultivation Quests are the main chain storyline within the game. If you read through the quests, you will discover that the "story" to the game is you, the player's rise from humble beginnings to becoming a great warrior. Along the way, many things occur and you have many adventures. There are things that are ongoing in Perfect World in which you play a part. These roles are imparted to you mainly through the Cultivation Quest stories.

But at any rate, the basic things that most people look at when doing the cultivation quest is the SP and the access to new skills. :)

so... r challenge quests as important as cultivation q's?

Challenge quests usually give access to some gear or extra ExP or SP, but I would say the main draw is the fact that it gives more Rep. (At around level 50's Challenge quests tend to give anywhere from 20-24 rep) It's also nice for people who are more story oriented because Challenge quests tend to have more interesting storylines then the usual "Go kill x of this" type quests.

What if you've done all that but your a lvl 41 and still have not been prompted to talk to the Celetial one in heaven's tear? Is there something you have to do first. A quest or something to trigger the prompt? and don't say "you have to die" done that just in case. I don't have the orb and never was able to talk to the celetial one for the quest. no prompt what so ever came up. Pls help. it would suck to never be able to advance skills to discord.

You have to have finished your cultivation quests of levels 20-29 before moving on to this set. Make sure you've done them all:

You're level 31, you should have gotten a quest for a free manta ray mount at level 30.

I am so grateful for the tips in this thread; like many newbies, I would have been lost without it!
I auto-pathed to the Ghost with your coordinates (at my usual safe cruising altitude) before dying, planning to locate the NPC then turn around and get one-shotted by some powerful beast nearby. I flew over to the Valley of the Gods next door and teased a Nivastok Brave. Lacking the inventory space to strip and still in possession of my free Guardian Charm, I found it ironic that a level 95 monster took a whopping three hits to make mincemeat of a level 39 Psychic. I suppose I'd have more of my charm left if I'd thumbed my nose at Sword Tamer instead!

    1. I am level 39 and started the Spiritual Cultivation quest. I kept seeing that I have to die in the first step in order to continue it, but I got the Orb, went to the Ghost, spoke to her, and that's it. I didn't have to die even once. I am now in stage two, where I have to kill a 230k+HP boss.

    2. I have a friend who is a Barbarian. He got the window telling him that he have to start his Spiritual Cultivation stage, so he went to the Elder in Heaven's Tear, and spoke to him. He was told above chat that he got the Orb, but he didn't get it in his Inventory. We went together to the Ghost Spirit, but she had nothing for him. Anyone knows what went wrong? Thanks.

you do have to die.. wether it is deliberately or accidently.. you did die.. everyone dies.. on the many characters i have played in the game, i have had to die every time.. i look forward to it now when creating a new toon, cos i can go divebomb swordtamer again.. although he has moved (grr) no more jumping off the platform straight onto his head anymore.
