When we take screenshots, we should be able to hide our personal information.

(Also, ideally, we should not have our weapon effects obscuring our view when we go into first person mode.)

Weapon effects will also obscure my view in first person (this one slightly exaggerated): swordtombfa0.jpg

Also, names and chat bubbles appear over other characters, not just me: weddingms3.jpg

If you mean personal information such as your character name, you can disable that ingame UI options. Just leave 'My Name' box or whatever you prefer unticked.

As for the HP/MP bar display click the abbreviations on your character pane.

Push F9 to take a screenshot and tick 'Hide UI in snapshots' box.

I understand how I can reconfigure my UI. But I do not want to have to be reconfiguring my display.

I do not see my screenshots until after I have quit playing. So I have to remember which UI elements I must disable manually when I have all sorts of things open and active. (Or I have to play without them, which imposes other burdens on me.)

Also, even if I remember to do this reconfiguration, I would need extra time, which will not always be available. My example screenshot was taken from Etherblade, and several seconds later a barbarian wearing his colorful boxers entered the scene. But, imagine if some monster had decided I looked like lunch!

But alt-H does not hide player names, nor chat bubbles (nor weapon effects), nor status lines.

However, this does help somewhat since I can now see which elements would be left in my screenshot. But I still wish I could get hide all of this stuff with a single checkbox in my screenshot dialog.
