A suggestion for the GM's

This is a suggestion for the GM's regarding the issue that occured recently and players responses to it, firstly I doubt there will be a rollback which is fair enough as it is merely one of a number of options for resolving this issue.

My suggestion is very simply to open the Etherblade server (PvP mode as originally planned) and then the players who arent happy with the resolution the GM's chose and the amount of wealth can go there and be level 1 (I would be quite happy to move to a fresh server where this issue hasnt occured even if I had to start again)

To put it simply I know that nothing is going to change on the main servers now as the decision has been made and the more time that elapses the less options are available. This suggestion allows the majority of player to have a choice to either make do with whats happening on their current server or move to a new one. As right now the majority of people are making different decisions as they see no hope for Sanctuary server they are turning to other games with no intention of returning.

Just my 2 cents on what can be done to resolve the issue and retain most of the current player base.

    The etherblade server will open when LC (or sanc?) reach their top capacity.
    A bug or whatever happened yesterday doesnt change this.

    I would settle for an explanation of what exactlytook place and why certain measures were taken and others not taken. I don't think that it is an unreasonable request to know why it is that I am now going to have to compete with multimillionaires when it comes time to look for new gear, mounts, etc. simply because I chose to not exploit a very obvious bug in the system. Granted the gold market profiteers may or may not have participated directly in the exploit, but they certainly exploited the situation.

    The profits from yesterdays fiasco would not have been made if it were not for the exploit taking place. People were able to sell gold for upwards of 900k because, and only because, exploiters were willing to buy it at that price to perpetuate the exploit.

    First of all, Lost City is the only server that wasnt hit by the coin exploit gone wild. So the suggestion to open the new server in "PvP mode" is just lame, considering its PvE server players who are dissatisfied with the resolution.

    Secondly, Lost City has the lowest population of all 3 servers, so again if a new server was to open it would be PvE.

    Third, this is a thinly veiled excuse for yet another "please open Etherblade server" thread.

    I'm pretty sure I read etherblade would be a pvp server.
    GM confirmation of this would be greatly appreciated.

    yes, leaving all buggers behind and going to another server is a smart choice, but... what if it happens again?

    The Server will be for whatever has the most demand. Which is most likely not going to be pvp.

    That would be a decent idea. I know that most games have a test server people can play on. All new patches etc get loaded up to the test server before they ever go live and the players TRY to find bugs and exploits, then report them to the QA team so they can be addressed before the patch ever hits the servers.

    PWI would do good to consider this suggestion, I for one would be more than happy to help there.

    Well if the poll is any guide, 2/3rds of the current population would move to the one new server; leaving 1/3rd of the current population on the three old servers. Might cause a slight load-balancing problem. b:laugh

    I remember a similar thing happening in UO. When they opened a new server, a lot of folks moved to it to escape economies tainted by a gold dupe bug that took the devs months to track down and squash. Within a week, the load on the new server was higher than on any of the old servers.

    I normally only like PvE servers, but at this point, I would gladly move to any other PW server, if at least I can assume that a good deal of the people going with me have a sense of fairness in them. I literally can't log in to deal with the people even in my own faction, who I feel like PKing very much right now (and yet will be forever unable to, thanks to their dirty money b:thanks).

    I could not agree more with this topic.

    Open Etherblade server.

    The Sanctuary is all screwed with the gold exploit that made some players get millionaire from selling low amounts of gold at AH. So unfair to all those players who didnt have gold at the time or werent online at the 2 hours that gold price went up (lets say.. "mini event" without notice for limited time)

    They said they r not gonna rollback sanctuary, so by this me and my friends and some more players are saying goodbye to Sanctuary and maybe perfect world. Im not gonna start a lv 1 char at Heavens tear because its too late and server is full.

    For those who can live with injustice and lack of consideration from the staff i say farewell and have fun.

    Heavens Tear also suffers with it. but we have more players so economy is less vulnerable. gold prices are probably ~125k right now. But if you're not seeking gold but a nice mold, forget! all decent molds are gone and I've already seen noobs with cheap 10k armoury mixed with rare 1.5m+ legendary.
