did i miss the opportunity to learn the tame pet skill?

i have an lvl 17 venumacer, and i got a pet that i bought before i finished the first pet quest. than i did the quest, got a sharptooth wolfing egg, and the heal pet and the revive pet skills, but even after i finished the second pet quest i didn't get the opportunity to learn the tame pet skill.
what do i do?

    go to the pet skill trainer, chose "tame pet" and you will be able to learn the skills..

    nope. she doesn't have any new skills for me.

    did u do ur cultivation quest? the quest u need is called sacred beast or so
