This game shuts down my laptop with no warning

The time varies on when it shuts down but it always does, there's no warning report or anything, just shuts down. It's not an overheating problem because I use CoreTemp and HWMonitor and the temp measures at around 45 celsius while playing. I've heard core2duo processor can go all the way up to 105, so it can't be it. I've also cleaned out the fans with compressed air and have the latest version of DirectX. I've set the affinity to 1 core and verified the client. I've also tried the compatibility mode to windows xp to try it out and still crashes. I've tried everything and still cannot figure out the problem. Windows error reports/events doesn't have any logs on this either so I can't figure it out. I am hoping someone on here can help.

It can, but it's really not good for the processor. A good rule of thumb is that each ten degree increase halves processor lifespan. 45 degrees Celsius is fairly acceptable, though.
I'd recommend getting the most updated drivers for your graphics card (32-bit here, 64-bit here) and running a Verify from the launcher for starters.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
well I updated the drivers and played for about 10 minutes and it shut off again lol, this laptop is so weird.0

Hm... Click the Start Menu, and right-click My Computer, then click Properties. On the left side of the screen, there'll be a button labelled "Advanced System Settings" -- click that. A window will pop up. Make sure you're on the Advanced tab, and click the Settings button in the Startup and Recovery box. Uncheck Automatically Restart.
Play Perfect World International and see if you can reproduce the crash, and tell us if there's a blue screen, and if so, what hexidecimal error codes pop up (will look like 0x0000000A).
This setting will make it so that most errors do not automatically restart the machine, which can provide further information, especially about Vista-style BSOD. When or if the computer crashes, you'll need to hold down the power button for five seconds, then release the power button, to fully shut it down when in a crash state. Follow the same methods, except checking the Automatically Restart box afterwards to go back to the normal mode.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
I just looked at the automatically restart box and it was already unchecked, I guess I unchecked it a while ago and forgot about it. But anyways, it seems like the system still shuts down even with it unchecked without having a BSOD.0

What are your current power management settings?[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0

Sorry but I don't know where to check my power management settings lol0

All right, in that case, could you please contact the support ticketing team, with a reference to this thread? They're more familiar with the internals of the system than I am.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0

For your computer, go to the manufacturer's website, to their tech support pages, and see what you can find for guides on how to use your computer/change settings, and to get the latest video/graphic/display driver.Do you need help learning about patching the game, installing it, changing antivirus/firewall settings, changing network settings, learn how to use a computer, keeping your PC maintained and more?

I've noticed from the event viewer on windows vista that everytime the laptop shuts down while in game, there's this warning that says -
Broadcom Netlink(TM) Gigabit Ethernet. The network link is down. Check to make sure the network cable is properly connected.
I don't know if this error is causing the shutdown or the shutdown is causing this to happen.0 -
Does your laptop's manufacturer have an updated driver for that network interface card?[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0

Hm, I don't think that's the problem. In my DxDiag, my graphic's card said the total memory is 358mb. The recommended graphic display for PW is 256mb. But from the settings menu from the launcher, it says my display card is only showing 128mb, could that be the problem?0
-
The launcher's settings menu information is only used to determine defaults, as far as I can tell. Other than putting you at lower default graphics settings than you might be at otherwise, it should not effect gameplay.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0

ok i am not a mod but i had the same problem.
get a lap pad that activly cools. * know you said before*
most likely from a hard ware point of view you gpu is overheating. check the temp on it. most lap tops are desinged to keep area's like the cpu and ram cool however not as much thought is paid to the gpu and a few buses in side. they will heat up and radiate the heat to surrounding areas in the computer. so your thermal sensor in the cpu which is getting fresh cool air from out side the case reports no heating problems.
a lap pad with active cooling aka a fan will force more fresh air into the case and disrupt the normal air flow paths the keep the hot spot down.
that should help it's my two bits at leastone day the world will shout to me save us....
and i will whisper no.0
