Hi all, i started a veno today and after reading some guides in-here i still have some question.

I thought that 3 or 4 pets where enough but some people said now.

This are or will be my choices:

-Petit Sawfly got a lvl 8
-Crystaline - (got the egg 4 freeb:victory)
-Guardian Wolf (those 49 or so near Suzerix)
-Eldersgoth Marksman or Sharpshooter

I saw/heard some people said that sawfly is only good until you get lvl 32 and start using fox's was air pets, so idk if i should stay with it or dump it in that time.

Some say that althoug crystaline is better than vulcanic the torgins still beat it (i really dont know)

Wolfs i heard that the starting one is the best (i dumped it)

also that apes are weak as hell and have no purpose.

So, should i stick with my choices, change then or get even more pets?

well for one your on a pvp server so your choices for pets need to meet your pve and pvp requirements.

your pet bee is actually stronger than the fox, people only go for the fox because its not as annoying as the bee.

as for the golem , out of all your options exluding the gameshop. it will be your best melee tank pet., high atp, and pdef. it hits hard , takes a good beating.

once lvl 30 youll have access to a easy to aquire deer pup.
these guys hit almost as hard as golems, but they have poor pdef but utterly high mdef. their mdef. is on par with the golems pdef.

there are some rare expensive ones out there also. plus you can teach your pets new skills but its costly, you will, however want those skills when you are 50+.

now due to the fact that i am on a pve server, i can use the pets mentioned. if i want to pvp i would seek pets built for it. hopefully a high lvl veno from lost city or a pvp oriented veno can aide ya with that.

    So i will keep those 2 (bee+cryst)b:pleased
I'am not thinking about buying battle packs to get 9999 sources or feather so hercules and phoenix will never be my toys :)

Just out of curiosity how many pets you have? I have a lvl 45 frined that was 8! fox+torgin+eldersgh+some undine (only water)+fb19 wolf+a big **** bee (green)+a snake (i believe that are the ones near misfortune) and a stupid turtle.

As for pvp i think that the bee is fine =D Someone with more exp in pvp say somethingb:thanks

You can keep the sawfly. It's high attack will be useful. It'll have lower def than the foxes though.
You can also keep the Eldergoth Marksman as a lurer for instances where sending a golem out maybe to slow or lead to it's untimely death in large mobs. You won't even need to level the Eldergoth if you use it solely for luring. Just turn off it's pet skills by right-clicking the highlighted skill, so it can use it's ranged attack. You'll be able to stow it away before the mob counters it's attack due to it's speed.

I have all 10 pet slots open in my Pet Bag. I have A Shoadu cub, Tabby Plumdrop, Snow Hare, Foxwing of the Void, Frogling, Tortoise Everlasting, and Proud antelope, with 3 empty slots. I intend to get a Cuddly Pup and Windwalking piggy, and maybe a mount of some sort. But not any time soon. In fact, I may be moving some of the lower level pets to my alternate venos to level them. :)

I'd suggest getting a water pet. I saw a veno try to kill the Elder Tortoise outside Archosaur without a pet, and she got annihilated.

Until about level 70, you don't really need a constant water pet, just catch whatever is nearby and it should work fine.

You can use an air pet to tank water mobsb:victory Fly right about the water and lure the mob to the top with a spell and then your Sawfly will destroy any water mob.

Also, instead of the Guardian wolf I would suggest the lvl 27 Snakevalley Bloodwolf you can find near Hidden Orchid temple south of Archosaur. They are very fast with good attack and all around stats. They also come with the skill Flesh Ream at level 4 whcih makes it possibly the most dangerous ground PvP pet until the lvl 60 Kowlin rare pet.

    Snakevalley Growth chart:

    Guardian Wolf Growth Chart:

Considering the fact that Snakevalley Wolf has a much lower starting level than Guardian Wolf, it should be better than the Guardian in everything but Mag resistance.

Edit: Because of the wolf's speed it could also replace the Eldergoth as a lurer which would free up a spot for a mount =)

The trick against that one is to lure it to the water's edge then get your land pet to tank it.

As was said already.. you really don't need to bother training up a water pet, ever, at all.

Just tame whatever tameable swimmy thingy is nearby to do your quests. Then at level 7x go and pick up the Celestial Icthyoid (dunno what it's called in this version).

Here's my personal line up b:pleased

Tank : Magmite -Tanking purposes (Great), grinding purposes (great), heavy hitter (hopefully soon replaced by the herc)

Lurer: Kowlin - 10.2 movement speed, need i say more? Also comes with flesh ream (great for PvP TW) and 2 debuffs (great for assisting tanks)

Air: Petite Sawfly - heavy hitter ( i also got the claw skill on it =30% phys attack increase), put flesh ream, interrupt skill and slow on it (for PvP TW). good and reliable when needed

Water: None ...too lazy waiting for the celstial plumpfish :)

Sacrifice Lurer: Wraith Deathknight, looks scary and it's stats suck so easy to trash but has good run speed. (used to use the snow hare, but got decimated at higher lvl instances)

Aesthetics:Shadou Cub, isnt he just the cutest thing b:chuckle
b:bye you were all swell peoples

Oooh.. wowy. That lineup isn't gonna hold too well later on. I'd advise you to get a golem ASAP. The longer you put it off, the harder it's gonna be to level it. A sawfly would also top that foxwing.

Hercules is a mega-pricey cash shop pet.. and I'd assume that oddfoot phoenixtail is one of those little penguin things that hop around one of the starting areas.

But yeah.. really.. get yourself a golem. You'll definitely, 100% regret it later if you don't do it now.

HoldyInferno is spot on the money, so I won't go into it as there is no need. My suggestions are same as most people I dare say.

Tank Choices - Crystaline Magmite / Hercules
Flying Choices - Sawfly / Phoneix
    PVP - Kowlin
Water - Catch something around your level as you level

One note though: Shadou Cub is a good offtank in case your main tank dies for what ever reason. Also extremly handy in dungeons only other pet that comes close I'd say would be a kowlin, however I would treat them both very differently in a dungeon. If you do pickup a cub then I'd strongly recommend you keep a tank Magmite or Herc, difference in stats at higher levels is pretty severe, cub won't cut it for straight out tanking, but don't right it off as it also has suberb other benefits besides the obvious stun. One last thing leveling two pets is easy enough leveling three starts to become a pain so choose your pets wisley.
