auction house - time limit

When bidding on an item, you get a timer counting down.
At the end of the time limit, sometime you see a bid added and the timer continues as usual. But sometimes 20 minutes is added to the clock. Where can i see the time rules for austions? Abyone got a link (or maybe only the answer)?

its pretty simple, if the timer is under 20min(basically 19 or less there may be some overlap) 20mins are added to the time if a bid is placed, this continues until no bid is placed in the last 20min
therefore if a bid is placed within 20min and the person whom was outbid immediately rebids the timer will still be above 20min and will not change0 -
Ty very much for short and precise answer.
I am puzzled that i didnt find a good overview on this topic on the main site....
The auction guides i found other places was too short and lacking of important info.
Did you read this on another site? Maybe you have a good link?0 -
Be careful, from my experience on MY-EN, there is actually a limit to the number of times auction end can be pushed back. Unfortunately, I didn't count when it was, since I wasn't expecting this when it happened.
Basically, I was doing a bidding war with someone, we were always bidding near last minute, then 20 mins would be added, then bidding again. However, the auction ended less than one minute after my last bid, without adding 20 mins o.O I won ^^
I don't know the exact rules, but after some times being pushed back, auction WILL end.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Thanks ForsakenX for the sig *_*0 -
from my experience 2 hours of bidding (maybe 2 hours 20 minutes) can be added then the time doesnt increase0

hmmm, alot of maybe and what ifs here.
can someone cough up a link with scientifically proven auction info? b:thanks0 -
Well my question has to do with HOW LONG A MINUTE IS.. I have been spending time in the Auction house lately and have noticed that the timer does not run on REAL time.. I had a auction that had 1 hour left and it lasted 2 hours and 18 minutes (NO EXTRA BIDS) and the one that I am currently watching while writing this had 51 minutes left 1 1/2 hours ago, did I mention it still has 42 minutes left.. WHAT is the Time Ratio used cause it does not match to any clock or watch I have..0

*** BUMP ***
I am still wondering about the auction clock question.. Its not the only time I have seen this timewarp.. I still shop the Auction and notice the timer still stops/slows way down when under 1 hour.. CURRENT BID doing ran perfect for the whole 23 hours, right on time but as soon as it hit the 1 hour mark time stood still.. 10:00 a.m. est --> 1 Hour left / 10:36 a.m. est --> 57 minutes left.. last bid was mine at the 12 hour left mark.. Can someone please explain this timewarp to me .. How can you possibly keep an eye on a bid when you run out of watch time to do the real world thing like GO TO WORK.. I have lost many auction due to this fact and I do not put bids down unless the time limit ends before I have to go..
P.SS. I will probably loose this one too since I have to go to work at 11:30 a.m. est and at this pace it will still have 35 minutes left..Why wont my sig work.. Not kool..0 -
when it says 1 hour left its rounding it doesnt mean 60 minutes left,i think it rounds to the nearest hour till ya get to <1 hour left0

That still doesnt explain why that last hour last 2.5 hours with no bidding.. The last auction I was watching actually lasted 27 hours and 18 minutes and YES I timed it and NO there were no bids after the 12 hour left mark. I think the expansion timewarp is at the auction house..Why wont my sig work.. Not kool..0 -

maybe the server was down for part of the time?0 -
Not only do I have some sort of misunderstanding on time, (when i put an item in for 24 hours it seems to only be there for 23 or 22) but also my minimum amount is not full when the item sells. I pay my fee upfront so why when i put an item in the other day for 225K and then received 217500 in my mail box. I have been trying to find somewhere to explain this and this was the closest topic I found. I am very frustrated by this cause I am unsure how much to actually charge since it seems to keep taking my overhead from my sales.b:angry
Please explain if anyone understands, or just post me a link of the Auction House rules, thank you.0 -
oh yea you don't only pay money to put things in AH, you also lose a buttload of cash in "secret tax". It's like "admin fee" on a rl bill, aka staff party.
To be frank the AH in this game really blows but its all there is0 -

I think its around 5% of the end price of the item you sold.
Example:
If something got sold for 100k coins, only 95k coins will be waiting for you in your mailbox.
I'm not 100% sure that it is 5%, but from my AH experiences, it seems like that much.0 -

It's exactly 5%, BUT, you do get 1/2 of the upfront fee returned. So if you paid 500 coin to post something for 100k, you'd get 95k (100k - 5%) + 250 (1/2 of 500) = 95250 coin in your mailbox.0
