Which Pets do I tame?

I just got the skill tame and i'm level 8 and that restricts me from some high level pets. So, I been wondering if there are any low level pets that I should consider taming for help. And should i keep my wolf?

    Keep the starter pet til you can teleport to Plume city, then go to Bamboo Village to catch a Petite Sawfly. At 17, go to Timberfield and catch a Crystalline Magmite.
    Those are generally assumed to be the best flying and ground pets for a veno.

    There's a level 12 quest that requires you to travel to Etherblade and the City of Plume. It also adds the two cities to your teleport options (so don't do something silly like try to run to Plume at level 8).

    I think only your level 18 or 19 cultivation quest depends on having completed this quest. So you may be able to put it off until you're 17, then go to Etherblade and pick up a golem then.

    If you really want the sawfly before then, I'd suggest just buying it from a cat shop. If it's less than 2k, it'll actually be cheaper than teleporting there and back, and a lot less time and effort.

    Thanks guys and gals. So, should I not tame anyother animals until I get the sawfly and etc?

    Maybe, but you'll likely stop using them when you get the sawfly. You lvl up too fast in the lowlvls, you can't lvl two pets fast enough to keep up.

    Is there a chart somewhere about the pets available for each level and whether they are land, water, or air?

    yeah, look here: http://www.pwdatabase.com/my/
    go to monsters and from there u can look at the levels. the green icon next to the mobs' name tells u that it's tamable.
