Throw me a bone here.
I've got one barb that is nearly lvl 40 and have started another. The first barb is mostly a damage dealer with a mix of humanoid and tiger skills. My second barb I'm lookin at making not use the tiger skills at all. It will save me the money and spirit points to put into humanoid skills and It has been shown that you do more dmg in the humanoid form. I was just wanting theopinion of others as to what they think of completely ignoring the tiger skills. I'm talking not even get the basic shapeshift for travel purposes. Some advice please?

Then you're obviously a damage barb, not a tank barb. I'd recommend at least getting true form though, it won't hurt you much, and it's good to have.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0

Enhances travelling speed and may help you get away if you're in trouble. Not to mention it's fun to mess with. Get at least lvl 1, it really won't harm you in the long run.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0

Err... there is really no point in making two barbs. You'll find it to be a dreadfully boring waste of time... specially seeing that with barbs, you really can't make them all that different.
Also.. Making a purely human barb DD with no true form or tanking abilities is just ridiculous. It'll be pretty much useless. You appear to really really (slightly inexplicably) like the barb class. Weird.
The best thing you can do would be to turn your first barb into a pure tank, and instead of making a second barb and building it for damage, actually make a DD, or more economic toon. So I'd suggest a veno, wizard or archer.
Of course.. if you really want, then go ahead and make another barb and build it for pure damage without any tiger skills. It's gonna blow royal chunks of pure crappiness, be worthless, useless and terrible.. but hey, I'm not gonna tell you what to do.Everyone here is ridiculously oversensitive.0 -
isn't a barb w/o tiger skills just a weakened bm?0

no a barb with out tiger skills actually is a barb with out tiger skills. damage wise yes weaker than a bm in fact prolly the weakest dper of the game on damage.
however i said it before i will say it again a DD barb lives longer in fight than bm does. basically al def comes from equiptment +/- a few % in pvp that matters in pve not so much. and if you are gonna go all pvp on your build you better hope that your skill does remove a bm's def buff. how ever the extra 2-3k hp that a barb has over a bm give him the ability to survive strong aoe boss attacks and accidental multipal mob agro.
I DO NOT RECOMEND ANY BARB EVER BUILD WITH OUT A FEW TANK SKILLS.
a barb dd's main advantage over a bm is his survivability and use as a back up tank due to the fact that even gimped barb tiger tank skills burn a bm's agro.
in closing do what you want but you should get tiger lvl 1 and at least a lvl or two of flesh ream.one day the world will shout to me save us....
and i will whisper no.0 -
If your planning this barb for PK purposes thn maybe it'll be ok. You'll have more HP than a BM yes, but a BM will have more pdef from his buffs and will outdamage you, so its gotta be close. I dunno I haven't PKed much.
BUT, from a PvE perspective, you can forget about it. You wont be tanking bosses without tigerform and will lose aggro easily without fleshream (stacked bleeding keeps the aggro). The humanoid bleeding skill is weaker and takes longer to cooldown and imho is ****.
You will need a very understanding group of friends and a second barb to help you through culti bosses, some quests and maybe even FBs (though the tabs help...lol)When the going gets tough; Get a tank!

I guess concerning the strategic gameplay, everything has been pointed out above. However, if you just want to try for fun, I would say: go for it, and don't bother with others opinions!
Personnaly, I really like the untamed race for their animal form, so I would never make a barb without trueform. I have a barb and a veno both based on their animal form. I also asked around on the forum for the fox veno, and got some strong recomandation not to do that. But I actually like it.
For the advice part, I don't think I can tell you anything you do not already know, since it is pure theory. I think important skills would be garotte or mighty swing (I would say the latest because it would be more usefull for kiting mobs. In humanoide you don't want to get ganged be a large number because you lack running speed) in the beginning, and later on penetrate armor and slam for when you get ganged. Bloodbath is going to be more important than beastking's inspiration. As for swell, I never liked it, but the higher lvl's of it may be better. Axe/hammer mastery, no comments.
They are just a few thoughts based on pure theory, and some barbs I've seen questing in humanoide, so don't take it to seriously.0 -
just dont plan on getting invited to much parties as they really have no use for you. have fun being alone for most of the time.0
