Kids playing PWI.

I have a friend who plays with me but I am quite confident is a kid who is at about the end of junior high.
Nice person to play the game with (a bit of drama queen, which I find funny), since she is high level and help me on quests, grinding, fbs and bosses. However, I think I’m doing something wrong by playing with her PWI while she might have homework to do. She is actually playing two characters in the game.
By the way, I need clarify I have no other intention with my friend rather than playing PWI.
I’m an adult male with family of my own (my kids are way younger).
I understand better than her that she should spend less time in the game and more in studies and probably doing more outdoor activities with other kids. But who am I to tell her that?
Sometimes I think I should delete her from my friend list and leave the guild since we share guild but she might feel bad (since she is a drama queen).
What is your opinion? Since I know many kids are members in guilds and you guys are in similar situations.

Its not your problem. If she plays instead of doing homework that is HER problem. Leaving her guild and deleting her from your friend's list won't stop anything, she'll probably still play, she'll just have one less friend. What you can do instead is ask if she has all her homework done or whatever, but in teh end it is her and her parent's problem, not yours.0

That's actually what I thought but probably not ethically correct.
Nevertheless you are right, I actually play more with the other members of the guild which I think are closer to my age.0 -
Totally dude, kids have parents for a reason you know.
If shes playing games all day long and her parents aren't talking to her its their prob. You never know maybe shes a super genius and did all her homework in 15mins0 -

Fully agree with this. If you had played with me when I was in high school, you might have thought I was a total **** off. In reality, I used to finish all my work at school, leaving my entire evening free. So, while I may have looked like a slacker, I was in fact being very diligent. My parents didn't worry because my grades were always good.0 -

This.
In reality, you can't do anything about it really. As you stated, you only think she is at the end of junior high. When I was a lot younger, people would tell me that I spoke much more maturely than my age.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
I never did homework. I never studied. I graduated just the same, though, with good grades. -shrug-
And why do people always tell younger people to 'go out and do other things'? Maybe some people don't appreciate the social culture in their environment as much as they do on the internet, where they have a broader choice of whom to associate with, due to it being the entire world. I, for one, wouldn't want to be caught dead with some of the people that live around these parts, brainless gits. So people should stop telling them that, it serves for some bad reactions and angry glares.
As for your situation; Don't sweat it, dear. Maybe she does her work at school, or she doesn't have as much homework as you think? I'm sure that if she was failing in school, she or her parents would act upon it. Although sweet that you care, it's entirely unneccesary, I'm sure.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

I gotta be honest with you dude, I understand why this may cross you mind, but its pointless to concern yourself with it. It sounds like you have the best intentions, but in this situation I would say the less personal you get the better. I'm sure she's covered, if she asks for a mentor then school her, otherwise just have good clean innocent fun together. b:victory0

As a parent of 2 boys who play PWI, I make sure thier homework and chores are done before theyre allowed to play anygame, wether its PWI or their console games. Its amazing on how fast they get done so they can play. b:laugh
I wouldnt worry about what your friend does as others have said thats an issue between her and her parents.0 -

That's awesome. I find it so cute the way a lot of families play PW together.
In my guild there's at least 3 families. Good stuff.
If/when I have kids I am totally gonna try to get into the same games they do. It'll probably end up looking a bit like a mid-life crisis, and me desperately trying to hang on to my childhood, but it's worth a shot just the same. b:chuckle
As for the original topic though.. try getting to know the person a bit. Maybe they're just a dumb adult? Or maybe they're on holidays wherever they live. Some schools down here in Aussie-land are still on holidays.Everyone here is ridiculously oversensitive.0 -

What do you tell your 2 little boys when they ask what your in-game name means?

I found PWI, I got addicted, I started getting bad grades, I left late to work because of the game, I quit college, I got fired, I love it. Now I have time to play PWI all the time. lol... DONT BECOME LIKE THIS! (absolutely all hypothetical example)
Kids stay in school. Games are for entertainment not a living. ^__^
Edit: Forgot to mention, kids dont steal from your grandma too.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

When I'll have a family, and I plan starting one in a year or two.. I won't allow my kids to play video games till they turn 14-16..
why?
Cuz i didn't have video games till that age and I had a lot of fun nonetheless. My younger cousin had a computer since his 5 or 6 birthday, and today, he doesn't have any friends, social skills, nothing - only videogames and obesity problems.. I'm really not gonna do that to my child and he can hate my till I die cuz of it, I know it will be grateful later..[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

^__^ best parent ever!! lol. Yep they'll hate you when they're young, but they'll come to realize that teaching them the ways of the ninja will benefit them more then games when they're older. lol..[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Isn't it a form of family time, though? I always have my mum in the next room, playing PWI and I'll leave my door open so when we're in instances, we can talk to each other without typing. BEAT THAT, VENT![SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

yes but when you enter the room does a computerized voice say "Semyezza has entered the channel"?

Don't forget anyone and everyone can lie, and some kids can act maturer than some adults and thus it can be impossible to determine people's true age. If they're 12 or less they'll need parents permission for general PG public chat, forums, online games, etc but it's not PWE's or anyone's aside from their parent's responsability to ensure this. But everyone will get treated equally and everyone's responsable for their own actions so if they break the rules of say the guild, they get booted or for the game, banned. Everyone, regardless of age, is subject to the ToS of whatever they use where age requirements is not noted.
Again it's up to their parents.Non-mule alts:

Thas true. I had a SNES when I was wee and battered into Sonic pretty much daily, 'cuz I didn't have a big friend group or much better to do (not a social thing: we moved a lot and outdoor sports didn't, and still don't interest me). I have social skills and no obesity problems to date. I don't have a big circle of friends at my age: why not? Because computers games at a youg age ruined me, or because I'm jus' not a big social freak?
As for the OP, don't forget that a lot of kids can sound mature/older than they are (I've been telt that often enough) and similarly a lot of adults can make you very much believe they're pre-teen. It's the internet; don't make assumptions.
If she really is out of junior high (what's that like high school? Late teens?) then like everyone said; still not your problem. Doesn't make a difference what you do, but more importantly, whether you're thinkin' it out of good intention or not; you don't have the right to do anythin'. Don't involve yourself in other people's affairs, especially when based on assumptions.0 -
I have a 7 year old son who got a nintendo ds for xmas, before that he was an outcast because he only had a game boy advanced. diferent times nowadays, all the kids play computer games[SIGPIC]http://i43.tinypic.com/x549ac.jpg[/SIGPIC]
Friends are like stars, you dont have to see them to know they are there

You should tell that little girl 'HEY SMARTEN UP DO YOUR HOMEWORK THEN YOU CAN PLAY PERFECT WITH ME!'
To be honest, who cares? Let the kid do what they wanna do, If they wanna play PW all day.. Let em.
For those that wanna keep there kids from playing games until they 15-16, Alright start busting out the breathalizer. Times have changed people, get with it. Deppending were you live, If a kid aint playing a game with his buddies. He's out getting smashed or w.e else he decides to do, I dont wanna list drug refrences though. I mean kids got this thing that some of you old timers never had, Its called an X-BOX 360 with Live/PS3. Let your kid play on that, he'll chat it up/meet new people and gain maybe confidence to approach people outside of his basement cuz hes talking with people he didnt know over a game now he has the confidence to do it outside. (Im not saying this is me, I got alot of buddies outside of PW rofl. This is jsut facts for many cases.) Sure let your kid rebel then, To be honest let your kid do what they want (within reason). Chores+HW before they see a tv/controller/computer/w.e, Or limit them at a younger age. Hey you can use a keyboard now, you can only play for 1-2hrs a day if you've gone outside or sum dumb thing like that.
Dont hold your kid hostage n make them do w.e because your parents didnt understand what a game was, unless it was ping pong tetris or w.e.. Times changed now folks b:pleasedI like when I say stuff that make kids go b:cryb:cryb:cryb:cry.
