Hello,

I have read several threads and guides for BM's, iv found a lot of contradicting information and thought it might be easier to describe my objectives and and build and get some experienced incite.

I'm currently a meager level 23. I plan to continue playing to 80+

Purpose of character:
I Play primarily for PvP, Dueling and PK
I want a strong dueling character with he ability to PK
And possible be able to withstand surprise PK attacks through escape.

Weapons:
Dual axe/hammers

Attributes: (without +)
Vitality 25
Strength 76
Dex 24
Mag 5

I want to know if i'm on the right track and where I should put my points from here (to satisfy my gamplay style). My feeling is that My strength has been getting a bit too much attention.

Skills
Tiger Maul 2 (accidental lvling)
Draw Blood lvl 5 (Maxed)
Aeolian Blade 1 (Maxed)
Stream Strike 1 (not maxed)
Drake's Ray 4 (maxed)
Cloud Sprint 3 (maxed)
Roar of pride 1 (maxed)
Alter Marrow Magical (unlearned)
Alter marrow Physical (unlearned)

The following are my queries that i would like answered:

1) To satisfy my mentioned playing needs (pvp, pk) how should i distribute my attribute points from now.

2)What skills should i be maxing for the above mentioned style of game play style?
Have i Made mistakes with the current skill leveling choices? Which skills are best for pvp, how important are the Alter marrow Skills for dueling /pk (defense/offense).

3) any recommendations for upcoming skills

4) Iv been leveling my manufacturing skills. With this interfere with my skill leveling at higher levels?
Should i stop lvling manufacturing/ minimize choices.

Responses from experiences players who play for PvP would be awesome.

the alter marrow skills are worth having (the magical one on a low lvl to balance your defs at times, like lvl 3, and the physical one for aoe grinding at higher lvls)

You have a pretty solid axe build. you'll want to get your dex up a tiny bit, but max it around 70.

manufacturing is good, don't stop. at the very least do apothecary, it can save your life in pvp.

Yeah, what he said......unless you want to actually be able to hit something with those axes of yours in which case I would put enough strength to equip your armor and weapons and put more into Dex. Doing so will increase your ability to actually hit your target and will increase your crit %. Remember, you're a WR, not a WB.

    axe PvP build:
cap vit at 50-60 (Mines at 50)
    then go 3str/2dex per lvl
    Back.

Thanks for the reply. Can the dex increase required for consistent hit success be received from amulets and rings? Ideally i would like to have all raised, but i don't want to end up with a typical 'rounded player' with no outstanding/ extraordinary ability. I.E level 30 with vit55, strth 65, dex 55.

At higher levels i would like to work towards this model.
So yeh, can accessories make up that dex and vit defecit at lv 30-40?

With Vit Capped at 50, what approximately should my str a dex be at that point.
How soon should i look to cap the vit at 50? Is this endgame or asap?

should be capped at 50 at lvl 45
    put in 1 per lvl

    so 3str/1dex/1vit
    Back.

For PvP I don't cap vit, I go for this 272 str (To hold GX) 100 Dex
(5% crit decent accuracy / evasion) Rest Vit.

You want pvp, Adding extra str doesn't help that much imo.
I much prefer the added hp / dex for crit / survivability.

You make an interesting point about the effects of str in pvp, when i started the rational was 'the stronger i am the faster i will kill them'. but unfortunately it hasnt always been the case.

When you describe the stats you aim for, at what level is this at? 100?

What would be the aimed distribution for say lvl 50 (250 points).

Could you also comment on what you think is the most effective pvp skill. for < 30

well, the stats im referring to you should be able to get a little before 90.
the most useful skills in PvP that I find,

Lions roar > Stun target for 6 seconds. (we're melee a frozen target is ideal)
Drake's Bash / Aeolian Blade > Dmg + chance to stun target.

Situational: Altar Sutra's Pdef > Mdef Vice versa

Cloud Sprint / Will of Bodhisatva > Run Speed + Anti Movement (Rush to stun then aoe using these)

Fan of flames > Drake sweep (Every bm should max these considering any BM can have these aoes.)

Drake's ray > Long range skill good for finishing off a robie if low hp and they're kiting.

TW: All of your aoe skills (For Axe / Hammer Path)

PvP/PvE/Must Haves: Aura Of golden Bell > Pdef
Weapon mastery > Patk in your weapon skill tree area
    Diamond Sutra > Heal yourself.

Alot of Wr skills are pointless: Tiger Maw, Draw Blood, Steam Strike. (don't waste Sp on these horrible skills IMO)

Some skills other Wr's use that I don't: Tiger Leap, Leap Back, Oceans Edge.

Tiger Maul - Don't level it anymore till liek 89+ where you can get the hell/heaven version of it. Then it actually become Decent because it's almost-spammable and it gives a decent spike damage while your other skills are cooling down.

Draw Blood - Pointless Skill except for PvE and Duels. Leveling is optional
    Aeolian Blade - Max
    Stream Strike - Useless
    Drake's Ray - Max
    Roar of pride - Max
Alter Marrow Magical - Level it up to 5-6 not more. Gives a decent mdef boost while not destroying your pdef completely
Alter marrow Physical - Max, use it in PVE only or when youre 1v1 agaisnt wr/wb

Leaps - Max when you have extra money/sp. Really useful in TW, ground pvp and pvp in the water.

Drake Bash - MAX, your highest single target damage skill, and a pretty damn good stun

Highland cleave - Max, your strongest AoE

Fissure - Max it eventually but don't make it your priority

    Heaven's Flame - MAX

    Drake Sweep - Max

Diamond Sutra - Level it gradually, I'm 9x and it's still not maxed and I don't really plan to soon either.

Fan of Flames - Some people don't suggest to max it. I say do it, the "casting time ( yeah sounds dumb for a "melee physical class") is really short so it's really useful to chain with your other AOEs.

    Blue/Red Sprint - Max

My stats at level 100 would be 272 str (gx) 200dex rest vit

Definately take Sinnerz and warmachine's advice. They are both very good at PK which is by far tougher than killing a computerized mob. (other than the bosses that is) and they both are in 2 of the 4 strongest guilds on the Lost City server.

Good luck with your build and enjoy yourself....after all, that's the most important thing. b:victory
