Problems Downloading!!!!!! Plz Help!

hey guys. i downloaded pw a few days ago and its been workin fine. i have windows vista basic. but my lil bro is sitting like 4 feet away on his pc, he has windows home premium,is haveing trouble donwloading it. and everytime he trys to download it, it gets done and say that some files are corrupt. can someone help! we have tried to download it several times. even tried to remove the old files and restrat the downlaod. we have even tried useing the direct download link and the mirrors. nothing is working. PLZ HELP!

    Have you checked the computers RAM or CPU?

    hes got just as much ram as i, 2 gigs. i have a intel celeron and he has an intel pentium. so as far as i know, it should of worked fine.

    Your processor should not be the problem. I had some problems downloading it at first. If you started a download and it locked up it may have started a folder and have some files in it. I suggest deleting all of them and starting over.

    omg dont download it again!

    You are 4 feet apart! burn the game on a DVD put it in his computer and copy it to the hdd and play! Or use a flash drive, or setup a network share if you know how.

    Why would you waste hours downloading it again when you can just copy the perfectly fine working version.

    i have a cd too! but that freezes up too! i dont get it. he has a better version of vista than i, yet he cant get it to work. we went through and deleted all the old files and nothing....

    did u try rightclick the shortcut on desktop, choose "properties"

    turn on "run as administrator" and if that still doesnt work, goto "compatability" and turn on "[ ]run in compatability mode" and choose "windows xp" in the list.

    lastly, maybe his computer doesnt have a proper video card? hold down the windows key and press R, you'll see a "run" dialog at the start button, type "dxdiag" and press enter. choose yes or no,doesnt matter on the popup. Once the program is open goto "display" at the top tabs, and look at what it sais at "name: ..."
    The features at the bottom directdraw/direct3d/texture accell should be "enabled" if they are greyed out his gfx card is pretty weak and probably cant play the game

    i tired all that, nothing. it just freezes everytime i try to run the program from the cd. here is the info for his card.

    the name of his graphics card is: intel (r) g33/g31 express chipset family
    chip type:intel (r) gma 3100
    appr. total memory: 286 mb
    display mode: 1440x900 32 bit 60hz
    and all his direct x features are enabled.

    i hope that helps. maybe we can get to the bottom of this.

    you cant run it from the DVD, you need to copy it to the hard drive of the other machine. then rightclick the folder you copied it to and choose "properties". Turn of the "read only" checkbox. and then try to run the game.

    The graphics card is actually pretty weak, but it should be able to run the game on the lower settings, before you launch the game make sure you set the game setting to low and then try it.

    The read only thing is very important! make sure the option is turned off after you copy the files from the dvd. Btw i really hoep you meant DVD when you wrote CD because PW is about 2.5gb last i checked and a CD is only 0.7 gb.

    Try using XP instead of Vista

    PW works fine on vista, in fact im playing it on win7 beta. It's pretty ridiculous to expect someone to trash their entire OS just to play a game.
