FB49/51 Wined?

You always see people offering help on fb's, and they say '39+ wined'. Now when I reach lvl 51 and wanna do fb51, should I get some wine? Cause I like it to do a fb unwined just once, to see what that fb is like. Is it possible to find a squad to do that for fb51, without having to pay them?

And also, if I make wine for fb51, how many wine do I need? Cause I heard that there were 3 bosses?

Thanks in advance,

Celia.

Don't do it wined. You need mobs in there for quests. People should be able to recognize this and help you out with them. If they want you to do 39+ with wine, it means all they want to do is leech off your exp. Try to find some real help. You'll be able to wine fb59 though, since you won't need any mobs in there. 19-29 need 1 wine, 39+ need 2 each.

19 wined makes sense if you are trying to do it with a party of people in the "appropriate range" (19-23, say) since the wine will leave enough mobs to finish the quest and let your party get quickly to the boss so you can test the theory that doing it this way gets better drops.

29 wine does not actually interfere with anything, but this FB is so short you would have to be in a huge hurry for wine to be worthwhile.

39 wine makes some sense even though you should be getting the mobs done at the same time. Do the wine after you get your count for quest (which should be well before halfway through) to make this less of a trudge through exploding-on-death mobs and the like.

49/51 I have only done unwined, so I don't know if there is any advantage to using wine after the count quest is satisfied. This FB seems to use a lot more wandering mobs through key spots so wine might help if you don't have a second tank to deal with those.

"Wined" means you bribe the old swordsman with wine so that he kills most of the monsters for you.

fb51 is a pain to find all the monsters even without wine, so don't.

fb59 needs no enemies, and should be wined.
fb69 requires you to do 20/20/20 to get a tablet if I recall correctly. But after obtaining all your tablets, should be wined.
fb79 doesn't require 20/20/20 to be done I believe. Should be wined as well.

A pain to find all of them? I'll agree that you won't find enough of them if you stick strictly to the shortest path through all three bosses, but just pausing for a couple of short detours is all you need to get the full count. And, at least one of them respawns as a wandering pair right next to the start (which you have to go back to when the tab holder goes out for the third tablet), so finding enough of that one is particularly easy.

That said, I still have never done this FB with wine so I remain curious if the people who do have a strategy that makes wine effective and still gets the mobs or they just all leave the tab holder with a tough quest to finish.

I think that they let us use wine, so that if someone was almost done and then lost their party for some reason, they would not have to fight through everything all over again. Wine should massively reduce the frustration level for some people.

But you get your "Call to Duty" quests so you can reward other people for helping you with your other quests. And our game designers have gone to great efforts to make sure to support you in this: You can not accidentally lose your tabs. If your squad fails your Call to Duty quest for any reason, you get back whichever tabs you had used, so you can try again (you have another quest active, which will give you your tabs if you have an inventory space free for them).

Of course, things still can go wrong, like maybe if the boss gets killed when your quest for that boss is not active, or [if you have an unpleasant and greedy squad] if the boss gets killed before they have helped you on whichever side quests you would need help for. Also, especially on FB19, people think that they have that quest when they do not, because they have been hearing about FB19 from other people, and do not understand how this quest works and have never seen a tablet.

But even if things go wrong, you can still fix things, if you do not mind some extra work.

For example, if the Boss dies without your quest being active, you can reset that dungeon and get another instance of that boss to kill. And if you ran someone through FB19 and they did not have that quest, you might be able to coach them through talking with their elder and getting that quest and then running them through again, this time with the quest.

Or, if your squad does not help you get your side quests done, maybe you can help someone else do theirs.

fb 51 should not be wined. Just find a really helpful squad.
My people, some of them have run away to the hills
and have no shelter. No food, no one knows where they are,
hear me my chiefs, I am tired. My heart is sick and sad,
    I will fight no more....

First of, that I know of there is no way to get your tab back if you sold it. However unlike what some people may tell you it is not neccesary to get credit for the quests, it just is used to give you a quest for extra xp/spirit/rep/blood. And while it is a little harder to get help without tabs, you can always either piggyback on another persons tabbed run, or else find an actually nice person that will run you through untabbed. (If you are on sanctuary I will be more than happy to help you with a untabbed FB39 run).

Oh, and also of note, is that the FB runs are completely separate from the spiritual cultivation. At least up to level 58, it used mostly for a good xp/spirit quest with nice rep reward and usually a nice item (tho FB39 fails in that department).
