so i've been told by many people in-game and read several times on the forum that changing your in game settings to high resolution makes everything (toolbars, character, etc) smaller thus giving you view of more of the landscape...

doesn't work for me. all high res does is add more detail to things.. and more.. greenery on the ground.

the way it is now, my 2 toolbars are at the bottom, and with the chatbox, toolbars, and system tray open, the entire length of the bottom is full/covered.

what do i need to do to get it the other way. i've tried changing my desktop settings to display icons and everything as small (max resolution) and it still doesn't affect the look or sizing of things in the game. what am i doing wrong?

what resolution (as in screen size) are you running the game in?

from the launcher, its under the customize drop down within the settings option.

1024x768 (full).. if that is the.. appropriate answer to the question... that's in the system settings on the game.

for my computer (properties.. settings) right now it's at the same (1024x768) but i have tried it at 1280x1024 and it doesnt make a difference on the game, even after a reboot and re-log.

Not sure about the tabbing issue.

Depending on the performance of your machine an option to try would be running in windowed mode, (again under settings, believe its a checkbox or something). This should prevent the resizing issue you described, however you will see the window border.. I play this way as I can leave the game running in the background and pull up a web browser overtop and still see what is happening in the game..

    Just an option..

You'll need to change the Windows resolution settings first, to their maximum, and then change the in-game or launcher settings menu. The way the Windows (and I believe OS X and XWindows) driver models work, full screen displays will usually be squished down to the desktop resolution if set above it.
