How do I use the pet collar?

I bought one and have no idea how to use it.

    Take the collar to a pet manager and choose "Rename pet". A box will come up and there is a place for you to drag your pet's icon from the pet bag and drop it into. Then type in your desired name (There is not a 5 char max despite what the box says) and then click OK or whatever the button says... I don't remember exactly what it says. lol

    You do nothing with the collar, it just has to be in your inv. Also, you can't have any pets spawned/active.

    I just go ahead and name my pets when I buy the collar at Mrs. Zoologist.

    I cant rename my pet, I have bought the collar and go to the pet skill trainer, click rename pet and type it in but it doesn'tb change it??? b:sad

    I know this may seem like a silly question, but did you have your pet actually out and running around when you attempted the rename? You'll need to if not.

    Also, don't go to the "pet skill trainer."

    Make sure you're going to Mrs. Zoologist at 587 620 in Archosaur.

    Perhaps you put in more than five letters your pet's name?

    I have pets named Fluffy, Jackson, Dynamite, Rollins and Precious... there is a character limit I'm sure, but it isn't 5 despite what the game says. lol

    Just make sure you stow your pet, and drag the pet's icon from the pet bag into the box provided before you type in the name.

    My veno is only lvl 37, but I have all 10 pet bag slots active (yay for super cage!) and all 10 of my pets are named... if nothing else I know how to name a pet! lol ;)

    I hav another question. IF I revert the pet back in2 the egg, would the collar b gone 2? Or is it reuse-able?

    Ok, i just renamed my veno's tank pet and i want to rename her petite sawfly as well. I have 2 collars, well 1 now since i named my tank pet. I tried renaming my petite sawfly but it wont let me, my petite sawlfy isnt active when i do this and yes im using Mrs. Zoologist to rename my pet, is there a time i have to wait between renaming pets? :o Help D:b:beg

    Okay, here is what I did, and it did not work.

    1. Bought a pet collar.
    2. Summoned the pet I want to rename.
    3. Made sure the pet collar is in my inventory.
    4. Talked to Mrs. Zoologist; checked "rename pet"
    5. Dragged the desired pet icon to the "rename pet" window, to the box.
    6. Typed in the name (just so happens the name I want to give my pet has 5 characters)
    6. Hit "Change Name"

    Nothing happened. Nothing at all. Pet's name did not change. I stowed pet, thinking that, just like you have to restart your computer to get some software to work, I might have to stow and re-summon my pet to get the name change to take effect.

    Nope.

    Nothing. Nada. Zip.

    I don't think I'm doing anything wrong, but obviously I need help. Thanks in advance.

    Pet can't be summoned for renaming. Stow it before choosing rename pet.

    if u got a renamed pet and u revert it into egg the name will stay. u will get ur pet name again when u rehatch it. no need to buy a new collar.
