would this work?

So I've just started playing this game. And I've come up with an idea. A BM that won't be a great tanker, but a decent dmg dealer. So it'd be best in parties with a tanker.
The general idea is no VIT, all STR/DEX. Every level 4 STR and 1 DEX. or every other level 3 STR and 2 DEX, but mostly STR for atk power. Would this become a good build in the higher levels?
Any advice on how I should change my character if this sucks? :P

Be prepared to die unless you have a lot of money if you leave vit at 5. When you aoe you will get hit and you need hp to survive.

I believe 3 str 2 dex per lvl is a viable build, in fact it allows you to use every type of melee weapon, but you will need to use hp stones and or charms to help you survive.

I've been told that adding more str than 3 per lvl isn't worth the extra damage. So go 3 str 2 dex if you really don't want any vit.

No VIT is a very poor idea. As a melee character, you need to take hits, and you will regardless of whether or not you are a tank. You will suffer in PvE because magic mobs will destroy you, and physical mobs will take out chunks of your small HP pool with each hit. You will not be able to have a full team when you grind. You will not be able to step in as a secondary tank when needed. Basically, without pumping any VIT, you're turning your heavy-armour BM into a cardboard tank.

This isn't even mentioning the fact that you'll be useless in PvP, since every other profession can one-shot you without the much-needed HP from VIT.

so, every lvl 2 STR, 2 DEX and 1 VIT is a better idea?

That's a basic build, but you will want it to be 3 str 1 dex 1 vit odd lvls/3 str 2 dex even lvls.

you need 6 str per two lvls for yer armor.

I think it's only 5 per two levels...

Heavy Armor = 5 STR every two levels.

Axes = 6 STR every two levels.

I would say try it. If you're going for a build like this you're probably battling enemies quickly one at a time, eg a blade build heavy on skills.

I can't guarantee you it'll work, but you'll never know unless you try.
To be honest, I created my first character without looking at the forums. 20 Mag, 30 Vit at lvl 52, and doing decently though not optimally in the normal sense of things.

You will have trouble on some magic mobs, but the key is to get in close so that they switch to melee attacks. You will be useless on AOE magic bosses, like Suzerix or Jewelscalen, since you die too fast. But you can skip those quests, or get a bunch of friends to do it.
