Magic build, all magic stats with 1 strength every other level(every even level). Basically, at level 2 put +1 strength, +4 magic. Then at level 3 put +5 magic. And on...Wear Magic Robes with hp gems in them.

Use the pet Crystalline Magmite as a meat shield for probably your entire PW lifetime... Petite Sawfly for the air. Later on get the level 46 Eldergoth Marksman for luring(search for a luring guide if you don't know what it is). You won't need luring until at least level 30 probably...

Both the Magmite and the Sawfly are often sold by players in the City of the Lost(the untamed main city) so finding them won't be a problem.

The basic strategy from beginning to end for you will be to send in your pet first and allow it to attack the monster before you attack. Always keep yourself at a safe distance from all mobs so that they don't attack you because the full magic build leaves you with low health points(but massive attack so its worth it).

^Basic guide without all the fine details but if you follow it you'll learn everything else you'll need without much trouble on your own.

thank you! I've been looking all over for pure magic pve info--I'm new too, 2 weeks in the game. The attributes were my biggest issue, but all of this helps. Such a relief to finally find this.

I love my bunny but now, at level 42, I got a lvl 17 Crystalline Magmite for all the reasons you read about. I needed more of a tank. Leveling him at my level is interesting, hehe.

One more question tho. Do we put anything in vit and dex? I did but will gladly get reset thingies. I have so much to learn.

    again, thank you.

Dexterity, no. But Vitality is up to your gameplay style. A pure magic build means that you can do a lot of damage , but this also means that you will have low health points. If you find that having low health is just to much of a pain to deal with, you can start pointing points into vitality if needed. Some builds even go as far as putting +1 vitality every level, but that is more for a PvP build in my opinion. For a PvE build I would suggest 1 vitality every other level but in the end it all depends on how easy you find it to survive on the health you have.b:thanks

    I have 33 veno with

    135 Mag (131+4)
    17 Vit (13+4)
    20 Dex (15+5)
    21 Str

which is just a bit on the light side for vit (1 every 3-4 levels) which means a stiff breeze blows her away, but she can decimate mobs as long as I'm paying attention to everything around her. If an aggressive mob spawns on top of her, it get really dicey if it aggros until I get my pet to pull aggro while running around screaming "GET IT OFF ME".

And no, those 10 points I put into dex wouldn't have gone into Vit, they would have been dumped into Magic pushing it to 145, but she does have a 4% crit rate, but that's just what I wanted to do.

Just grind mobs at or slightly above the level of the golem that you can kill fast, and it'll level faster.

Thanks for all the links. I'm still reading up on this but there is one thing I haven't found.

Targeting has always been a pain for me in PW, but with the magmite, omg. My pets have all been short.

When he blocks me, moving to another monster b4 I target...all I target is him for too long a time.

Running and zigging around trying to target is driving me nuts and its dangerous.

This can be a problem when I'm in squads too but mostly I haven't run into this much before. Except I get swords a lot when I target or the click on the monster doesn't target it.

There has to be something to do, something I missed, that I don't know about targeting. I haven't found it.

I don't die much but dying at all now is a a big grrr. And I hate putting my squad at more risk with slow targeting.

Use "shift" to click through the magmite.

Hold Shift and click. That combination ignores players and pets. Only mobs and npcs are selectable. Absolutely necessary if you're using a golem. Becomes second nature.

Also, holding Alt+clicking makes only players and pets selectable. Less useful, but still good to know.
