What i REALLY hate!
somtimes i see somone getting piled and low on hp
(when i had my old elf cleric)
i usally help them ,fly and attack each mob so they get off the person, and chase after me which they cant attack me cause im flying, and wait till the mobs go back to there spot. then i heal the injured player and buff and all, and save them from dieing.
about 6 times i'v did this and not even a thanks or nothing b:angry
i no it dosent seem much but, just for the sack of manners lawl.

at least your doing a good deed. right[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0

Really? I usually get a thanks when I randomly help someone. I don't lure mobs away though, because sometimes they mean to pull more than one, and just over estimate their HP. I just Ironheart, buff, ironheart as needed.
Maybe you just hit a bad bunch :P. Anyway, keep doing deeds, I guarantee people appreciate them, (I always give thanks if a cleric buffs me when I'm on my alt)
Although I notice that you said old elf cleric. I take that to mean you don't have him/her anymore.0 -
I do the same and I am getting thanked around 50% of the time. I do it because I want to be helpful, if they don't thank me for it, I am not mad at them, either.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0

i couldn't have said it any better! i think of it as the clerics duty to help people with what the game has given us as our skills. Thank you or not i still feel good that i did something nice to better someones survival etc b:laugh[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Maybe some players would not even know that you have healed them.
I only recently realized that clerics had sometimes been buffing me. Before that, I saw pretty lights and thought that that was some kind of game feature that randomly happened. Later on I realized that I got buffs from those lights. And then some time later I realized that another player had been responsible for these buffs.
And even when I understood that I was being buffed, I sometimes wasted time trying, unsuccessfully, to spot the cleric that was buffing me.
Now, I usually try to say "thank you". But sometimes I only notice that I have been buffed and do not know when that happened. Combat can be very, very distracting, sometimes.
But you were healing, and heals seem obvious, so I think I would recognize them happening, but I hope that I have illustrated that we can be fairly ignorant sometimes?
Also, I remember one time a cleric was trying to heal me when I was trying to die (I was trying to harvest some rough furs and they were getting to be too hard for me to gather and I very much did not want to gain another level and make them even harder to gather). So I asked not to be healed. (My would be benefactor was so apologetic, I felt bad and had to apologize for not wanting to be healed!)
b:chuckle
Anyways, I do not feel that you can safely assume that all players would have understood that you were healing them, and you should perhaps also not assume that all players want healing.0 -
Fleuri - Sanctuary wrote: »you should perhaps also not assume that all players want healing.
That is true.
A few weeks ago I healed someone that was about half HP, and when they were finished fighting they yelled saying they didn't want any help...they were actually pretty mean about it. I was just like sorry, I didn't know.
But it shows that it's true, not everyone wants to be healed.
I actually was going somewhere else with this but I forgot completely...0 -
yeh somtimes when tehre running for there life to a lake or wateva or jumping like mad, and they dont say thanks.0

WHAT I REALLY HATE,
Started my FB29 last night, announced in guild and people were rushin and spamming to get in with me, then one of m says, "give me lead", ?
So i say why ? "Just give me lead" , but why i say again, " cuss i invite a friend, just give me lead", Well i say, if you want someone invited just type the name and i will do it, o and pls explain as how i can do that (being fairly new to this game) ? SO i stayed friendly and calm. "GIVE ME LEAD" he spams again, so i dont react, and say, just type the name and i will invite, etc;;;etc;;
Nobody wanted to explain how i invite people at first, took me 6 times to ask, everybody wanted the lead, and people were just being rude, cuss they assume i know nothing, being fairly new to this game.
As soon as you are high lvl it means you can bully low lvl players i guess ?
I played wow for over 2 years, was class leader, lead 20 and 40 man raids, with hard tactics and lots of skill all that, so i know a lot also about gameplay.
And then when we finally do the instance, i have to stand back, cant even look in a room, instead of some fun, had a lvl 80 cleric there, who solod it, glad its over, no fun, no learning, no skills, seems nobody is intrested in doin a FB29 with 6 lvl 33 orso ? People just spam OMG its impossible, while i read on this forum it can be done fine, if you have skilled players, but all the high lvls run , very low lvl dungeons , so where are the skilled players ????
(Will try soloing FB19 so i can learn some pulling, see how goes, and even for that i am way to high lvl, if i wud do it in group.)
And then when it was over, boss dead, everybody just rushesout leaves squad, says nothing goes back, gone, gone, rude rude, kissing **** all the time before we go, and being rude after, come on guys get a grip.!!!b:angry
Let people learn also and have some fun, if you are invited to come and benefit."There's a big difference knowing the Path, and Walking the Path"0 -

Well.. you gotta understand, it's an FB19, and the untamed one at that. Those FBs are a dime a dozen. There's a lot more huggsies and happies and congratulatory remarks after the more oomphy FBs.
What you gotta understand is that to most FB helpers who run your lowbie FBs, you're nothing more than a small pile of XP and rep. And XP isn't supposed to talk.Everyone here is ridiculously oversensitive.0 -
Go to a decent guild and you dont have that kind of troubles.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

yea...the reason high levels run you is because they just wanna "shut you up" and rip through everything and get their little self merit badges for helping the "noob" harsh, yea i agree. And the reason high levels run those is because they want to reap the benefits. FB bosses have chances of dropping weapon molds, and high level producing items.
and yes fbs of your level can be done with people of your level, just have to play smart and safe. I've seen it happen its not a once every blue moon scenario lol b:bye[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

It's actually worse than that. Most of the people doing these crash FB runs don't have any use for even the best drop they might get from FB19 or 29. What they really want is the rep points that have to be added up in massive amounts. Drops of any sort are just a small cash reward the expectation of which is probably not even worth whatever they spent travelling to the FB. Since they need A LOT of FB runs to get anywhere on rep, they are in a furious hurry. That sounds like what the OP ran into. It is a surprise it happened within a guild. Usually, a guild will want to be training its own members to participate. I guess this one just does so much of the FB farming that they don't know any other way. So, I'd second the recommendation to look for a guild better suited to what you want.
If you want to do an FB run for its own sake, the best way is not to advertise it widely (or offer it up to those who advertise in world chat). Ask your friends and build up at least the core of a group. If you still need to fill a role, ask for exactly what you want or look for a suitable player on your guild pop-up box and ask them directly. Most people are happy to get a chance to do what their class is supposed to do. See, here is a thread where tanks are complaining that they don't get enough chances to tank (at least at lower levels).0 -

Were you on Heaven's Tears I would have said "that would be me", but then again, you would have had to debuff* me quite a few times to make me go ballistic, so if it were the case, you deserved it.
* Clerics, please learn this : your HP and MP regens buffs are laughable, like, in a contemptible fashion. So don't cast then unless specifically asked for, any random Lv1 alchemist is able to make a potion 10 times better than those spells, and you're just annoying people. Do yourself a favor and save your spirit to buy actually useful spells that will ease your future Cleric life.**.
** On the other hand you can play a full STR plate priest with 5 int and rank one of everything especially to debuff random people caught in a critical fight, hopefully causing their untimely deaths. ^_^ Oooh pleasure and joy. ^_^
Back on the subject at hand, the thing I despise the most, the one thing that makes me close the local and abandon everyone knee-deep in their problems, is that far too often when you help people, they will stick to you like an old chewing-gum ! They'll insist insist insist and eventually become rude when you refuse to meet their highly ridiculous expectations ! NO I won't give you a few hundred thousand coins ! NO I won't give you boutique gold ! NO I won't sell you my panther for 10k ! No I won't carry you to the banker because you're too lazy to walk yourself to the town we see ten meters away up North ( plus I'm a girl I can't carry anybody T_T ) !0 -
bobncut i agree completely with you those crash runs are just evil.
i think a better suited guild is way better.
fb19s and 29 are prime practice for lower levels i believe because later on when ur actually able to get a same level group with ease and you had no practice in an fb instance etc and soforth, your gonna be like a fish out of water in my eyes. i kinda see it as the old generation using the new generation for things and then ruining their future by doing so b:shocked[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

I cast one ironheart and went back to my grinding.
Actually, a few minutes later the same person started to type in the local chat asking for a cleric to HELP!!!
I looked at that and was just like, yea right. I wish I had thought to take a screenshot >.<Ormenelle - Heavens Tear wrote: »* Clerics, please learn this : your HP and MP regens buffs are laughable, like, in a contemptible fashion. I get asked for this buff a fair amount of time.
I agree, it's not that great. Make yourself some powders, but none the less... I have lvl 1 of this skill, and people appreciate it.
I'm not saying that I'm constantly getting barraged with requests for buffs, but this buff comes up just as much as my other two that I have.0 -
well when i use my cleric to help others i don't really expect them to thank me, but if they do it's definitely a plus, and i'd feel appreciated. If I don't get thanked, i don't really mind.
I see where you're coming from though, a simple "thanks" shouldn't be that hard to say.0 -
This...is why I don't help people unless they beg ask me. XD
I find that helping people too often leads to those high expectations--and I don't want to be anyone's healing slave or buff-buddy or whatever. [Because sometimes I feel bad saying no...therefore, I try not to help too much in the first place. XD;]
As for FBs... I usually run FBs with some friends if the occasion calls for it. I certainly don't treat lower levels like simple EXP. Not everyone who's not in a guild is horribly mean to lower levels. Of course, I'm not going to dispute the idea that finding a guild to help is probably best...
All I'm saying is there's hope in the world! [maybe] XD...you just have to find the right people.0 -
Maybe they speak another language imo0

I've only seriously played a cleric on Fiesta, usually because the skills are awful as to what one would consider support and also for things like this. That's why I chose to heal only myself and my party and no one else, except during Kingdom Quests when another party had a fail cleric. That's my cleric way.0

BUT - the one thing you do need to be aware of is they override each other. If someone's using Life Powder (+50HP/s) and you buff them, you just dropped their bonus regen to maybe +2HP/s (depending on skill level). So they'd be understandably upset in that case. So, if you see the HP and/or MP regen icon on someone - don't cast CGS unless you're sure they want it!!!0
