hi guys, just have a few questions regarding venos

i know from reading that venos lvl the fastest prior to lvl60

just want to know if they are still good after lvl60

i won't go zhen any way, so the fact that they are left out of that is not an issue.

question is, will they be wanted in normal parties?
what sorta of a role do venos play? (second tank, debuffer and DD?)
are they able to aoe?

thanx in advance

I'm a level 81 veno and yes, they are great after 60. In fact, they keep getting better, especially when you start really skilling your pets and juicing yourself for damage.

As for zhen parties, venos can be pullers as long as you have a fast mount. I personally have done DD a few times using AOE and my tank pet and it worked out really well. Venos not being any good in a zhen party is a myth, and people who say they aren't welcome, don't know what they're talking about. I was led to believe that venos weren't welcome in zhen and weren't all that good after 60 too, and I almost gave mine up. Fortunately I didn't. I stuck with it and proved that just the opposite is true. So stick with it and I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

I agree with Anashra on this. While I have never been in a zhen party, anyone can pull with a good mount, and our AoEs, while somewhat lacking in cast speed can help I would think. Besides we are THE solo class, all you need is a good tank pet (generally a magmite if you don't pop alot of money for a herc) and PATIENCE. The main thing really is finding the balance between how much damage you can do without pulliong aggro off your pet and how much healing you need to throw at it.

As for party value, if you or your pet isn't tanking, you better hope for a good tank that can hold lots of aggro if you go pure mag, and then sure you can DD. The main reason I think people like venos is we are the only ones who can pull one mob out of many if need be (great for those FBs where the tank can only take one or two or whatever) Really I could level really fast if I wanted to, but meh I'm lazy XD

Besides never let someone tell you a class is **** at any point, that is an opinion. The only way to know for sure is to get that class to that point.

i want to go with the build
    7mag 1str 2vit

i did 9int 1str before, but i stole aggro from my pet quite a lot and i die easily when a mob aggros on my or respawn next to me, so i want to be a little safer this time.

so is this a good build?

    I like full mag :(
If I die, it's because my pet died (usually because we got mobbed totally, but then havin' some vit wilnae save me from that, oh nooo...)
I think I control my pet fairly well, so it's jus' down to a matter of killin' the mob asap, before I start draggin' too much aggro towards myself. Even then, every so often when I do pull aggro, they usually die before the reach me, still ^^

If the mob got aggro on you, then I suggest - If you have Crystalline Magmite - it's better to spam (although can't call it spamming b:chuckle) the skill "Sandblow"* at the first of the fight and when it is cooled down, or even better in the middle of it hp, in this way it wont go aggro on you.

And just to be safe it is better to carry HP pots with you in case a mob re-spawned behind you, just go to a long range (in case it was a magic attacking mob) and venos can tank magic mobs pretty well ... as in a mag build not sure about others and you let your pet to take care of the other mob you were handling, it is fine to heal it while you are fighting with the other mob just be sure to click on the health potion, and just don't go very near re-spawning area's, it is troublesome, and ofcourse your pet can tank two at time, just be sure that your pet landed a hit on the other mob and spam heal, you will be fine.

i love my build, heavy armor fox. I tend to hang around with my magmite and obliverate things. the beauty, is i dont have to worry about being mobbed. If i have died, it was seeing how many mobs i can actually handle at a time (4 melee)
at my lvl broken bow is the clerics nightmare, tons of people die left and right due to mobs that run into mobs that aggro. This was easy for me as i would engage more than 1 at a time and pretty good at chain pulling, healing pet when needed (i do go for int also)

now i know later on there will be more caster mobs than melee. the good thing is i can use robes my lvl also.(stats go every 2 lvls 5 str, 1 dex, 4 mag.)

I dont know why it isnt suggested emough, but i found (and use) that an 8 mag, 1 str, 1 vit build seems to be the best. Its just enough to lessen your chances of stealing aggro from your pet and just a tad bit extra vit which gives you 1-2 extra hits before dying (plenty of extra time for your pet to regain aggro or you to hop or your flyer & gtfo if needed).

I still keep up just fine with my non veno friends level wise, depending on who is feeling lazy and who is actually grinding, and I'm not even a full mag veno ((which are the best at fast grinding out of the veno builds)). I'm light armor, and not only do I rarely die to mobs but there's all of one or two others in my faction who can take me down in a duel. If you play it right and know what you're capable of, you should be just fine.

As for parties, you'll be most wanted for your pulling skills. There are better tanks and DDs out there, but not a better pull.

    Ehhh.. no. Not really.

For PvP it's pretty much either:
    6 mag/1 str/3 vit, and use robes
3 mag/1 str/1 agi and use light armour
Or the more complicated and expensive heavy armour shmeal.
    Everyone here is ridiculously oversensitive.
